hd01chevy Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Iwant to build my ccsb 2500 w/6.0L, to pull sled and sometimes bumper to bumper pulls. I already haev a rear end out of a d-max and traction bars.decent tires to bite. got a eaton e locker for fron end. just need some info on what to strengthen more, or add.
BuckFeverZ Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 - Custom tune - Built tranny - Driveshaft loops - Stronger front end components to beef up the IFS (i.e. TRE's, ball joints, CV's, etc) - Beef up the rear suspension to keep it from squatting (air bags or springs) - If you get serious, weigh bar on front with adjustable weights I've seen a lot of guys with GM's break tie rods while pulling because they start bouncing and don't realize to let off the throttle. If you plan on pulling a lot, I'd beef up the IFS first. I've actually pulled my '07 1/2 ton Silverado a couple times. I was lucky enough to not break anything so I figured I'd quit while I was ahead.
jdc2 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Rare parts inc. makes some monster TRE's. I saw the guys on truck u install them. Looks like a really nice piece.
