Painting Vs Swapping Door Handles

Hi

I just purchased an 09 Sierrra extended cab and I'm looking to bring it to a body shop and get the handles painted to match the color of the truck. Would it be cheaper to buy the handles from the dealer and swap them out myself????

Thanks

I have a feeling it would be cheaper just to buy them and the results would probably be better. That's just my guess anyhow. I would imagine to get them as smooth as the factory painted ones would be difficult. Also I think that the paint would be harder and more durable then an aftermarket paint.

I paid $110 for 4 handles for my CC from 2 members on GMT. I took my time and it was about an hour to switch them out. I'm not sure what the body shop will charge you but I'm guessing it will be more than you can buy take-off handles for. I agree with GPGuy that the finish from the factory will be better than the body ship will be able to make those black textured handles look. My suggestion is to be patient and keep your eye out for some take-off handles. :)
