What Kind Of Gaskets For A 6.0l Lq9?

Hey guys.

I am going through a 2004 LQ9 Motor and am wondering what you all recommend for good gaskets.

Motor is a 6.0L 2004 Esclade HO LQ9

I am looking at this set on ebay

# GM oil pan gasket (aluminum shim w/ rubber o-ring seal)

# GM valley pan gasket (aluminum shim w/ rubber o-ring seal), and 2 GM lower valley pan knock sensor grommets

# GM front timing cover gasket (aluminum shim w/ rubber o-ring seal), and GM front crankshaft seal

# GM rear engine cover gasket (aluminum shim w/ rubber o-ring seal), and GM rear main crankshaft seal

# GM water pump gaskets (aluminum shim w/ rubber o-ring seal)

# Pair of GM MLS (Multi Layer) head gaskets. MLS gaskets are the best in the business, and don't leak like paper gaskets)

# Pair of Fel Pro valve cover rubber gaskets

# Set of Fel Pro intake manifold gaskets

Fits the following:

99-04 Gen III LS2/6.0L Engines.

EBAY ITEM

It also mentions something about the heads as follows:

Q : Are MLS gaskets compatible with my heads?

A : If your cylinder heads have a complete flat deck surface (NO POCKETS), then yes, your heads are compatible with MLS gaskets (see photo below.)

Anyone know if this motor has pockets or not??

Thoughts on this set? Thanks for any input!!

Not sure what a one would cost but have you look at your local auto parts store for the complete gasket kit. I'd imagine a fel-pro kit wouldn't be too damn expensive. Plus if it's that new your probably gonna want to spend a little extra to get some quality seals and gaskets that will last you instead a cheaper set that might not last as long.

That would be the route that I would go anyway.
