Hollow Sound Steering Column Area

Recommended Posts

I have a hollow sound when driving and turning but not a popping or clunking sound as described as intermitate shaft noise. I do feel it a little on the steering wheel any ideas on ways to check if it is shaft or if it is in the steering column? only 19k miles, 2" lift front and rear is the only changes made from stock. Thanks Roy

My bet is the grease on the intermediate steering shaft is starting to get thinned out and the sound will get worse over time until it gets fixed. My 2006 GMC has this issue and I need to get at it soon, because it's starting to bug me quite a bit. BTW my truck has 33K and the suspension is stock.
