Nav Head Unit Unlock

I have a navigation head unit that I got on ebay and want to put in my Tahoe that I need unlocked. What is the process for doing this? While I know some of the non-nav head units can be unlocked through a simple process and a phone call, I assume the nav units have to be unlocked with a Tech 2 at a dealer and that the unit has to be installed in the vehicle when this transpires. Is this correct or is there an easier, cheaper way to do this?

i had asimilar issue but i took it to the dealear they unlocked it and so what. But the problem is that you have to know what rpo codes did the original truck that had the nav, because most trucks always have rpo codes different. That was my case because i had boutght one for my 08 gmc sierra and took it out to put on a 09 trade in .but the had different rpo codes . the volume controls dint work and took it to the dealer to unlocked but sound was al the way up. so found this guy in ebay and tdid everything for me plug in play. let me know if you need some help?
