Grinding Sensation In Steering

Recently my truck has developed a slight grinding sensation in the steering, primarily when turning right at low speeds and high angles (ie, parking lot maneuvers). It has only made any noise once - made the groan of bending metal when I was backing into a parking space last week. Drives just fine other than the sensation.

I keep the front end fairly well lubricated. Changed the water pump a few months back and greased the piss out of the steering box while I had everything out of the way, was wondering if maybe I had dislodged something in there.

Where do I start looking for problems? Friend of mine thinks its a CV joint, but I don't hear any sound at all from it, so I dunno...

We had the same problem with our truck. I guess there was a recall on it before we had it and all they did was greased up the steering box. That did not last too long because it is doing it again. I guess that is just their "quick fix".
