Hey guys, Just bought a pioneer Touch screen double din dvd player, and I am curious as to what is absolutely "necessary" to have it work with my 07 new style sierra SLE. Future shop tells me I need like 300$ work of parts to hook it all up!!!?? What are these parts and where can I get them? Thanks

only things you really need are:

GM/Chevrolet In-dash Receiver Kit - $15-$30

(Fits select 2006-up models

Chassis sizes E & DD)

Antenna Adapter - $6-$18

(Works with a variety of 2002-up Chrysler, GM, Ford, and Mitsubishi vehicles)

GM Factory Integration Adapter - $85-$160

(General Motors OnStar® data bus interface

Retains OnStar and factory door chime with aftermarket radio in select GM vehicles)

sounds like they want a profit

Does the dealer have this stuff? And will it be compatible with the pioneer system?

What is the model number of the Pioneer system that you are installing?

The dealership usually does not have these parts available since these parts are aftermarket. The above parts should work with the Pioneer Double DIN Touch screen system that you got...

GM Factory Integration Adapter - Part Number: Metra GMOS-LAN-01

everything else is universal.....

Canadian tire sells installation kits too.

Crutchfield Canada sells the factory integration Adapter for 140$

Nice selection but I aint a fan of those controls on the left side...looks kinda out of place with the horizonal control bars....

I am going to assume that you have a GMT900...

In Dash Receiver Kit: 142GM1598B

IPod Adapter: 130IU50V

Steering Wheel Control Adapter: PAC - 127SWIPS

I just instaled a Pioneer DEH-P5100UB in my GMT800. Just a rundown of what you need to do in addition to installing the head unit. As M. Cueva said, you need to install two different modules in addition to the HU to keep the factory settings. One of the modules (Scosche) retains the factory warning chimes and the other (PAC127SWIPS) retains the factory steering wheel controls. Both modules get wired into the factory wiring harness via splicing and soldering. You'll need to tap into a green wire in the distrobution block just under the steering column for the PAC module, everthing else gets wired into the wiring harness. Once the system is hooked up and working, you will have to program the PAC module to control the steering wheels controls to your liking.

The instructions for the two modules can be a bit confusing so just ask if you run into any trouble and we'll get you going!!

Ok, so I got everything hooked up except for one wire, I think its purple and white, with an inline fuse, and it says its the gear position one. There is nothing left to attach it to. Everything works fine except it wont play dvds because the vehicle doesnt know what gear its in. Where do I hook this up?? Also, how the hell does the steering wheel control unit hook up, also no where left on the harnesses to solder. Thanks!
