Downfire Or Forward Fire?

Ok so I bought some kenwood 10s and a 1000W Kenwood amp. I already have a kenwood deck and all new highs. My question is: in my 00 sierra ex cab which box will make the 10s sound the best...forward fire or downfire? I'm a total newbie to sound systems so I really need some advice on this one! Thanks in advance guys!!!

I've run downfire for years. Protects that sub from impacts.

def down fire, sound will be better and keeps the sub safe. good luck!
