Report: Brett Favre thinks return

Citing an anonymous source "with direct knowledge of the discussions between the two parties," ESPN reported yesterday that Brett Favre is scheduled to meet with Vikings coach Brad Childress later this week about a possible comeback with Minnesota. The report yesterday cited an anonymous source. It said Favre and Childress will meet at an undisclosed location later in the week.

The longtime Packers quarterback retired for the second time after spending last season with the New York Jets. Both he and his agent, Bus Cook, said this spring that Favre intended to stay retired.

Childress said last weekend the Vikings would discuss Favre's availability after he was granted his release by the Jets.

Part of me says " stay retired" and the other part says "go for it". There's a lot of debate about him tarnishing his legacy, but hell if he can still play, do it. It didn't hurt Joe Montanna or a couple of others that did it. He will always be a Packer in my mind regardless of his current colors.

I like the Vikes and not so much the Pack, but no Packer would ever consider being a Viking.

I wish these guys would just retire with some class. I'd argue that Joe Montana didn't help his legacy. John Elway is a lot higher in my book.

People have NO loyalties these days and Favre is a good example. :nonod:

When will this idiot realize it's over?

(probably when there aren't any teams desperate enough to pay him millions)

There was a time when I had a lot of respect for Favre. That is long gone now.

He has loyalties alright... 12,000,000 of them. :D

What would you do if you were offered $12,000,000 to do something you loved and that wouldn't end up with you in jail? :nonod:

I'd like to see him stay retired too but I can't fault the guy for a second. Think about how many more generations of his family he just hooked up. Just sayin.

I'll go along with that. The NFL is nothing more than an auction where the highest bidder gets your "loyalty" until the contract is up. (of course other sports are the same)

IMO sports went down the drain back when companies like Nike and others starting hanging their shit all over the place in exchange for money. It became instantly impossible to stop the destruction of anything resembling a real "game" after that. Everybody in sport is now a whore. EVERYBODY. It's just a matter of how blatant you want to be. Favre apparently doesn't care about the fans. He only cares about the check.

That is not SPORT. That's prostitution.

Yeah, right! When is the last time anyone (that's worth a damn) has ever finished out his contract?

Contracts in the NFL (and all pro sports) are anything but. What a joke!

I'd do anything for 12mil right now. Er uh . . . almost anything. :nonod:

But what is Brett Favre worth now? 100 million? 500 million? He should have enough bank and with enough financial sense, he and all future generations could live very comfortably.

I don't think its so much about the money as it is wanting to play in the same division and going againsted the Packers. I think he might still be holding a grudge because of the split!!! Besides he's get at least 1 more time to play in Lambeau JMO!!! :nonod:

He should just stay retired. He should've stayed retired last season, but since he was our quarterback, I supported him. I've lost a lot of respect for the guy over the last couple years.
