Nimnight chevrolet salesman told us that a 2500 LT quadsteer w/3.73 rearend would pull a 10,000lb camper, fifthwheel ALL day long....since have found they lied....we are in need of a lower gear ratio since we bought this truck...Beware of Nimnight dealerships in Jacksonville,Florida on Cassat Ave. They'll tell you a lie when the truth was a better story.....If this was last dealership open in florida I'd...hate to say it...buy a ford

Sorry to hear that. So I guess you're not gonna give them good marks on the customer survey.

So I take it you don't like them

Seriously you don't need to post a whole bunch of times about it. We get the point from the first one. And quite frankly, isn't it your responsibility to check the towing specs prior to your purchase if it means that much

10,000 lbs is at the MAX tow rating of the truck. If I had a trailer that weighted that much, I wouldn't have done anything less than an 8.1 liter or Dmax.

Gears will help some,.. but don't expect miracles. Drop down to 4.56's and get a custom tune to help add power if getting a different truck is not an option.

Good luck

tow ratings are posted all over the place... they're clearly displayed on GMC and Chevy websites, 3rd party automotive sites (such as Car & Driver), and even in the owners manuals......

sales men usually dont know a lot about the trucks, hell i had one guy tell me that my 2005 had a solid front axle. So if you asked him if you can tow 10,000lb... he probably looked in the owners manual or at the tow ratings and saw that it was the max load and therefore said "yes, you can".

I agree with Steven, its really on you to know what you need.... sucks, but such is life. Gotta look out for yourself, and reealize that salesmen are salesmen...

True, but since neither of us will be towing over 10k lbs i guess thats kind of irrelevant now isnt it?

BUT since we both drive our trucks everyday, my 400+hp is relevant... and i get to feel the acceleration and performance of that 6.2L / 6spd trans every day of the week... sorry brotha :D

:dunno:

edit: steven you playing mind games with me? i KNOW you quoted me... and then switched it... dont do that!

PS. im leaving my response as is... cause its still true

Hey!!! I hit the wrong quote but fixed it...

Since your going there, I've got the 9.5" rear end and you don't :P and near 400 HP with my diablo... :dunno: So when you jump on it, and rip your rear end out.. I'll be passing you by waving... :D

Oh hell, I've got a button that makes mine go AWD  Besides, your large heavy tires will slow you down anyways

Sk1er, I didn't know 6.2's were available in 08's. I thought they just came availble for 09's? I knew they had them in the SUV's, but not pick up's. Got any pics of the engine? Thanks...

I'll like those wheels, they look good on your truck! Watch out for the EZ Pass on your plate, technically the cops will give you crap for it obscuring the plate. We just got the plate pass and am returning it. Prefer the window mounts better.
