Transmission Trouble

I thought about adding this to Dan's random pictures thread, like normal. But, I have a feeling this may turn into something more than "just" some random picture...

I went out to check my mail earlier.. I never go through the garage to do that. It's easier to go out the front door than to open the garage door and listen to it do its thing. But, for some reason, I just wanted to go out through the garage.

On my way back in, I saw "something" under the truck that shouldn't have been there. Upon further investigation, I found this...

I remember going to Jack In The Box a couple of days ago and when I was leaving, the transmission BANGED!! real hard from one gear to the next, for no good damn reason. Well... Judging by this and the fact that there has never been any fluid in the garage, I'm guessing something broke, the other day...

Looks like I'll be finding out whether or not my dealer does loaners here real soon.....!

Wish me luck!

Thanks, Scott! I'll post updates here, as they happen.. I went back out to the garage, to start getting my 'personal' things out of the truck and now the garage light won't come on! Lovely...! haha!

Thanks, Jarrod! I have some meetings, first thing in the morning. After that, I'll be calling the dealership, to see about getting a loaner setup, getting the truck over there, etc.

FAWK! You best not be goin to trade it in on one of dem dere Acuras though...:lol:

Seriously though, good luck, hope they take care of you. Didn't you have some issue when Justin was tuning your truck with the tranny? (ie. something f*cked up with it even before he touched anything?)

Acura!? hahahahaa!! That's what I came from, dude! I'm not thinking about trading.. I have too much 'extra' in this one, so far.. I need to get it much closer to payoff before I even think about something like that!

Yeah... There was an issue, back when we were trying to tune it. The thinking was that there was (is?) a problem with one of the clutch packs that controls the shifts.. I never had a chance to get it over to the dealer.. and I didn't worry about it "too" much, because most of the time, it shifted alright. I have no flippin' clue what happened at Jack In The Box, the other day.. It shifted from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd and BANG!!!

My first reaction was to pull over and look under it to see "wtf just broke!?" and "am I gonna have to use OnStar to call a wrecker??" But, I tapped the gas and it was still in gear, so I came on home (less than a mile). It shifted ok the rest of the way, so I shrugged it off and made a mental note "get the truck to the dealer, ASAP!" It hasn't moved since Tuesday night. So, I was surprised (to say the least) when I noticed the fluid under it, earlier...

The longer I've looked at that picture and thought about it, the more I've been leaning towards that. Thanks for the input, Mike! That helps confirm in my mind what I was already thinking.

What???? I don't see the problem..you ran over a bottle of Coke?

Seriously, Have you seen exactlly where its leaking from, it look bad. Judging from the pick it looks like its coming up mid section of the tranny. Not good.

Jack came out of his box, that's what happened

WOW. Not good at all man. As long as it has fluid I don't see why a drive to the local dealer would not be ok though.

That really sucks. Keep us posted.

Felix : I'll talk about the dealer, after I see how things are handled.

Thanks for the input guys.. I just drove it around the block, to see how it's doing... AND to see how much more it leaks. I left 'er in the driveway, to have a "clean/clear" spot to check for leaks. I'll check on it in an hour or so and see how bad it is and then figure out "drive or tow?"

John, I haven't seen where "exactly" it's leaking from. To be honest, without jacking it up and getting dirty, there's not much of a way for me to check it. I'm not exactly a small guy, so getting up under there wouldn't be the easiest thing in the world. If she were out from under warranty, I'd look into it further. Since she still has a warranty, I'll let the guys at the dealership get dirty, looking for where the leak is and how to fix it..

I was asking cause I used to use Classic in GPV when I had my old chevy and my dad used them for his gmc trucks too. But I dont have warranty on my 06, well not factory anyway, so I was just curious.
