Humming Noise From Front End At Higher Speeds Only..

Around 60mph my truck starts to make a humming noise. It did this worse at 13000 miles and here is what the dealership did to correct the problem. (Said things were out of tolerances)

SI ID 1742901

15801501 Case Diff 5.510

9420095 Bearing 5.536

9420095 Bearing 5.536

89021671 Lubricant 8.8000

This solved the problem. Well at 40,000 miles the noise came back but not as bad. hum hum hum hum....It gets really annoying. So I have an extended warranty and drop it off and come back to Hey we changed your rear end fluid and a bill of $150. and guess what.... I still have the same darn problem. What would be causing this to reoccur? Where do i go from here? Obviously going back and arguing with the service dept is looking like my only option. Thanks.

My truck :2006 sierra 4wd.

sounds like a wheel bearing or a c/v problem. You said it happens at highway speeds, does it change the rate along with the speed? that would tell you if its a rotation problem. I had a humming noise on a front wheel drive grand am, took care of that with a shot of white grease on the rubber c/v boots, sorry to say I dont think thats going to solve your problem.

Well it just goes hum hum hum and then it will pick up a little faster to a constant hum with very little acceleration. Its not too loud though. I might just wait for it to get louder some day so that they cant deny hearing it.
