Getting To Rear Speakers

Recommended Posts

I hate to make a thread about it as I'm sure this info is out there, but I can't find it. Everything is for extended cabs.

How do you access the rear speakers? It doesn't seem as though the grilles pop off but I didn't force anything.

Bump :dunno:

can you post pictures of the inside? I haven't owned a modern regular cab so i couldn't tell you off hand. The grills if they are set up like my '01 and 06' are can be popped of w/o taking the door panels off but that's on an ext cab and crew cab.

I had a 2000 single cab back in high school. From what I remember you have to take the back pastic panel off that is behind the seat right below the window. After that you will see the two screws on each side panel. You will need to take the screws out and then pop the panels off. The metal clips may be holding them on pretty tight if this is the first time they have been off, so don't be afraid to be a little forceful with it. After that you should have access to you 4x6 speakers.I sold that truck in '07 and who knows how long it was before that it was when I messed with those speakers. If anyone knows of something I missed or can explian it better please chime in.

JFriday is right. you need to take off that plastic panel on the back wall. That should expose some tabs with screw. Be careful and take your time taking off the side panels. Make sure you get all the screws out, and pull gently. Can't remember if the seat belt bracket has to come off or not.
