No doubt the carpet in the TrailBlazer is going to get worn in the left foot area.  Has anyone found a dead pedal for a foot rest and to cover the carpet?  Any suggestions?  Thanks, Don

What I've suggested in another forum is Husky Liners.

They cover the dead pedal area, fit like a glove, and you can get them matched to your interior color. If your not interested in the Husky product I think some other floor liner vendors cover the dead pedal, I'm not sure which one's though. Another option would be to order the carpet for an '02 and replace yours, but that would cost considerably more than the Husky's.

It's ridiculous that GM deleted the dead pedals in some 03's. With all the stuff GM's deleted in the 03's and 04's if I ever bought another triplet I'd have to get the new one first and add all the good stuff on my '02 to make it whole again.

With the Ichibahn I would go with Gun Metal or Brushed, and with the Toucan I would go with Silver. Between the two different brands I would probably go with the Toucan just because I wouldn't put too much money into it. But of course these are just my opinions and the colors are a preference to keep things looking stock. I really wouldn't like the Idea of screwing things down into the sheet metal but it's your ride so you get to choose what style and color you like. If you went with either of these I would recommend calling the company and getting measurements for both, and going with the one that best fits the dead pedal area. I wonder if someone out there isn't selling self adhesive rubber dead pedals. If there was you might find one that looks just like the stock piece. Good luck on deciding which one you like. :thumb:

You have expressed many of my sentiments.  I'm trying real hard to stay away from tacky.  I might order both and return one.  I'll let you know what I decide.  Don  :flag:

todd11231,

A dead pedal is usually a rubber pad molded into the carpet to the left of the brake pedal on the drivers side floor pan. Most vehicles have them where a clutch pedal would go. It's advantages are reduced carpet wear in the area where you would normally rest your left foot. For some reason GM decided to stop putting the dead pedal on specific '03 Trailblazer, Envoy, Bravada despite having the dead pedal on the '02's.

When I worked at the dealership I saw this one trail blazer that had a wheel chalk, the thing to put behind your wheel so your truck won't roll backwards, for a dead pedal, it looked alright (it was bright yellow) and it was pretty comfortable, and could be used as a chalk if need be...
