I got some overspray from painting going on at my work so I bought the Mother's clay bar pack.

OH, MY GAWD! My truck is so smooth, it's sexy smooth. I never knew paint could be so smooth.

Now I'm clayed and waxed and telling everyone to CLAY YOUR TRUCK! - IT WILL THANK YOU!

Just my $0.02

I know what you mean....did mine about 3 weeks ago. The hood, roof and tops of the bed were the only thing that I could really tell a big difference on.

Makes you wish more things in this world could be that smooth! :seeya::seeya:

You guys think it'd be worth it to clay a 1994?

My paint is in good shape, and with a good wax job, it comes out pretty glossy.

I say sure...it doesn't so much help the shine, just makes it smooth...which I guess would help the shine. :chevy::jester:

You should definitely try it at least once. I did it on my 10 year old car and it blew my mind how much it smoothed out. Doesn't do a lot for shine. But it will make you grin as you lay down the wax. I kept feeling up my truck's paint every time I walked by it!

I did mine about a month ago for the first time and was blown away with the results and ease of use of the clay.

It is so smooth it's just hard to believe. I find myself touching it everytime I walk past it too.

Did mine last night and i couldn't stop touching it as well! you've got to love the clay bar, plus its not too hard if you keep up on your paint. I found this out once i tried my dads 99' rado which has never been waxed. that thing took forever!!

I clay My 90 and the guy before me had only the silver painted and since my truck is red/silver the red comes out like the day it rolled off the lot... :D

When you use the clay bar do you have to remove the old wax first or do you go right over top of it?

The clay bar takes it off. Just make sure you apply a coat of wax after you clay your truck.

Wax on, wax off. :fume:

I know that this is an old thread, and since I know that everyone will tell me what clay bars work best and then I prob. won't end up any better off, can you tell me what to stay away from, and what method works best?

I have only tried Mothers and TurtleWax ICE and I didnt like the ICE.

I did my wifes truck with the Mothers and LOVED it, saw the infomercial on the ICE and

thought it would be good or better than the Mothers....WRONG.

I did half my hood with both and you could feel the difference easily, Mothers is way better.

Was easy to use and I did 2 cars with it, well one small truck and car.

Just follow the directions and it included the wax for after claying it....VERY NICE.

I think it was wash truck, spray on liquid and rub with clay bar, wipe off and wax....very easy

I apparently have some clear coat over spray on my Yukon windshield. What is the best way to remove the over spray? Will the clay bar do well on glass also?
