  1. Wife and I floated the Frio River in Texas this past weekend. Absolutely gorgeous and the water was flowing nicely. She caught a pic of me coming back over the low crossing.

  4. We have three trucks lined up. All 2015 Sierras, 1 SLT and 2 Denalis. Stock Headlights Morimoto Sierra-Spec HID kit in factory housing FX-R Retrofit with XB35 bulbs courtesy or a popular retrofitter FX-R Truck Morimoto Kit FX-R vs Morimoto FX-R vs Stock Results: The Retrofit is obviously the brightest. The FX-R is a very bright and has a good beam. Issues were the build quality. Broken tabs, stripped adjusters and missing parts meant that we were unable to align them to the factory truck we had on site. Awesome upgrade and WELL worth the work, but either do it yourself and make sure it's done right or pay for a skilled retrofitter. The work to open these lights is painful and getting it right is important. Not being able to adjust these ones that he purchased means we will be removing them tomorrow and installing the factory housings back in with a Morimoto kit instead. My Morimoto kit was still quite bright despite being a much higher kelvin. Having this kit in own vehicle, I'm quite happy. I will be doing a retrofit at some point but for the time being I am happy. I have had no issues with the install and have had no issues with reliability since. For the cost and effort, I definitely recommend the TRS kit for these trucks. Great improvement from stock with little work. Stock is obviously rubbish compared to either setup and should be changed out ASAP. 5. I had the same issue intermittently a few times. Just like you, only at slow speed (maybe 2-5 mph). A few times Ive felt the brakes pulsate like I was losing traction. I have no idea whats caused it. I have a 2/3 drop though and it hasnt happened in a month.

  10. Have had some bearings and seals replaced but engine and Trans is original. IMO GM diesel is designed to go a million if you don't put extra power to it.

Just recently installed Smartphone Mirroring in my new 2015 Silverado, basically it was for NAV and In-Motion Video at first but the WOW factor is still sinking in with all the possibilities of your phone. 18. That's how they blend now. They say it's for a perfect match, but I had a body guy tell me it's unecessary if a painter is worth his salt. That guy just sprayed about a foot around the damage on my car at the time and the paint match was perfect. Charged about a third to half of what the other shops wanted because of it. Said he was almost fired from a shop because the manager was getting upset over him not blending further out. Asked the manager to point out where He painted a car and the manager guessed the wrong spot, manager looked like a fool and then got really mad. He said so many painter's just aren't good enough it's standard practice to paint several feet all around the damage. I'm sure $$$ has a lot to do with it also.

  20. It seems that in mine, there is some vibration when the pressure/buffeting (aka drone) is present. I have driven all versions - Chev, GMC, short (Tahoe, Yukon), long (suburban, Yukon XL), with and without ANC and Magnetic Ride, 18", 20", 22" - they all did it. Slightly varying severity, but they all did it. I agree that this new generation is significantly stiffer in an attempt to provide a more "European" type ride. Unfortunately, GM screwed it up. They made it stiffer but missed the "ride quality" portion. I have driven my share of BMW's and Audi's, and not one of them displayed the harshness of these new gen SUVs. They are stiff and handle great, but the road harshness has been somehow isolated and there are no ridiculous "buffeting" sounds or any other pain in the ass noises. GM obviously does not have the technical wherewithal to build a vehicle at the caliber of BMW or Mercedes, so they should have stuck with what they know - sofa on wheels! This generation of vehicles will be the learning studio for GM and maybe the next generation will actually be correct. But for now, they suck. And no amount of telling the owners that their expectations are mis-aligned will change that. You may love yours. That's great. Everyone has a different threshold of when a sound becomes a noise. Yours is obviously higher than others. But make no mistake - this is a real issue, and has been observed by dealers and factory engineers. Most of us are suffering with it out of lack of any option. I also guess that GM knows exactly what the problem is. It's likely something major, like the entire stiffness of the vehicle results in a resonance of a major component and generates the buffeting. And there is no fix for it, short of a complete redesign. And all the farting around with road force balancing and rear end exchanges and blah blah is a band aide diversionary tactics to wear out the owner into submission, or frustrate them into going away (via buy back, lemon law, BBB, simply trading it off at another brand). And for those that don't notice it, they can keep on selling new units and posting record profits.

  28. I will say that the manual that came with our Yukon is extremely poorly written. It tends to be more of a description of what the feature can do instead of instructions on how to operate it. And ours has the keyless start, which the manual completely ignores when it comes to certain instructions. For example, it describes how to turn on the Accessory power using the key, but provides not a single word on how to turn on the Accessory power when the vehicle is equipped with keyless start. One would think that GM could have been bothered to add instructions for those that bought the $80,000 version!! Once again, thanks for nothing, GM. Bottom line, it's a bit of a POS.

  32. I just find this forum. Very happy here with my first Chevy truck. Matter of fact it's the first ever truck I buy. It happens to be the very first year for this color. The snow was just about a week or two after I bought it in Kentucky. The sunny pictures are in southwest Florida from last weekend.

  33. Sorry guys, I have read this whole thread and I'm still confused. I am looking to lower my 15 4wd Denali and was wondering if it is possible? I would love a 3/5 drop but would settle for a 2/4? I haven't seen a lowered Denali on here yet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  35. Just finished my install this weekend of our 24w flush mount pods. Used the Rigid mount plate and drilled a few holes for the flush mount. I like the look better using the flush mount. The Rigid D2 looks a little unfinished as you can see gaps around it between the light and plate. And the flush mounts match the shape of the headlights a bit. If anyone needs these we carry them for $40 each. www.infiniteoffroad.com

  40. Most of these suspension lifts don't do crap for off road performance- you sit up higher but still have lousy flex, lousy suspension travel and likely poor suspension control. It's all for looks but even so, I'd never want any of the wheels lift makers seem to chose to show off their stuff. I could potentially accept 20s on a big tire but I generally don't like black wheels and hate the over styled stuff. My taste is old school I guess.
