  2. Well folks, I did it. After all the failed attempts at the Chevy dealer I traded it in for a 2015 Ram 1500 Larame. I have to agree with the other folks on here that have done the same thing, it was the best decision I made and I am very happy. I will admit, it's disappointing though, this is my first non-GM car in close to 20 years. They really screwed the pooch on this one and lost a long time customer. Too bad they really don't care. Well, I am off to a nice, smooth vibrationless drive to the camp ground. I wish you all the best of luck and will remain subscribed to the thread. I am interested in the outcome.

  6. This is embarrassing lol, but here it goes... As ghetto as this is... The picture below shows my pedal set-up for the last two months. Yes, that is a rubber door-stop attached to my gas pedal with two zip-ties. It sux that I had to resort to this on a 55K car. But, it has helped tremendously and only costs $5!!! My pedals are perfectly aligned now.

  7. I had Dodge Challengers up until recently. On one of the Challenger forums, they had what some, including dealership sponsors, called "isolated" timing chain breakage. On that thread the OP compiled a list of those on the forum with 5.7 auto trans cars who had their timing chains break. There were 55 at a certain point but when you considered that was for just a certain engine/trans and just for the people who belonged to that forum and posted on that forum, if you calculate out to the entire 5.7 Challenger's with automatic produced then the number becomes vast. Corporate remain silent for quite a while, then finally after about two years, did a recall. I see the same happening here. Eventually, they will be dragged into a recall.

  8. I have the same frustration, and for me it is a safety issue. any other vehicle has always had the pedals closer in height. the problem is I used to bump my foot on the brake when lifting from the gas. safety issue to say the least as in a panic maneuver I may not be able to get to the brake in time after another attempt. so here is what I did for both my 14 and my 15 1. move the pedals all the way to the floor 2. disconnect the speedo cable that adjusts the brake height 3. move the gas pedal forward while the brake stays at the lowest position. 4. press memory button and hold the memory setting 1 or 2 depending on what driver preset you use until it beeps 2 times. you'll find the truck a lot easier to drive and the throttle more responsive since you don't have to reach so far to press it and youll find the brake and gas are a lot closer to each other. the only other option is to remove the brake pedal and find a way to bend it more straight. I am just waiting for someone to die because the brake pedal is positioned too high and the NTSB gets involved so GM will actually listen. I've complained about this several times and even GM customer service from this forum suggested I contact my local dealer which I have done with no follow-up on their end. I have a fix so my issue is resolved. honestly I don't know why anyone needs to move the pedals anyway. unless your wife is very short!

  9. agree.......maybe that is why the new ones take so much dang oil....to leave room for it disappearing...... May get a little better fuel mileage but uses more oil....kinda like robbing Peter to pay Paul.......

  11. Lol. It's funny you say the drive is boring until New Mexico. I say the same thing. All flat and then the hills start forming. That's when I started to get excited last year when we went for the first time. Staying 2 days in Colorado Springs to see Garden of the Gods and pikes peak. Then heading to keystone where I rented a condo for 7 days. Wanted a central location to visit Lake Granby and Trail Ridge Road back to Estes Park. Then might go to Fort Collins for the day to show my mom where we want to move and show her horsetooth reservoir. Then Glenwood Springs, Aspen, and Boulder maybe. I'm pumped and so is the family. Taking some natural Meds to help with the altitude aclimation. I got pretty sick last year in Estes Park until I went to and oxygen bar. Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

  15. Yup, it's a 2500. Zone 5". Now has CST 10" LIFT. No longer fits in the garage...

  16. Jeffromx I see to no avail you have been asking members who have a lift to get roof measurements. When mine gets out of the shop either tonight or in morning I'll measure for you. Also you posted photo of Zone 5" lifted truck. Either that's a 2500 or original poster has a 4.5" zone cause I don't think Zone has a 5" for the 1500. Could be wrong but don't think so. Wow I type slow! Went back and looked and that is a beautiful 2500.

  17. I never got an exact measurement from ground to onstar antenna, but my garage is opening is exactly 83", and I had about 3-4" to spare if you can tell from the pic. Another pic is my truck next to my dad's stock sierra.

  18. Any chance we could see more pics of the 35"s with the Zone 5"??? And an overall height measurement to the top of the onstar antenna would me AMAZING please?? Sorry if I missed this already.

  19. 2014-2016 1500, and 2015-2016 2500hd/3500hd, both Chevrolet and GMC use the same tailgates. There are only two part numbers, one for tailgates without the tailgate lower/raise assists and one without. No differences in the top plastic cap, that was a 2007-2013 thing, and even then, there were two tailgates used by both, one with assists and one without. Both top caps would interchange as the gates were designed to accept both. Even 1999-2006, same gates.

  20. I think the only thing that might be different between trim levels is the tailgate cap. Nicer models will have a thicker, heavier duty tailgate cap. Lower trim will likely have a thinner flimsier version.

  24. Here is the 2015 GMC Sierra Denali I picked up last week. Iridium Metallic with the 20" Denali wheels but I have a set of 22" CK163 that the dealer sweetened the deal with, just need to pick tire size and brand. Have the 1.5 level from Suspension Maxx in hand, hope to install sometime this week. I removed the stock side steps in favor of some AMP retractable steps. More pics to follow! -Matt

  28. 2014 Silverado 4wd. Came from factory with Rancho shocks, aluminum suspension and 1in of rake. Added Rough Country 2.5" front, and 1" rear along with Rough Country rear shocks. Just changing the rears made a huge difference in ride quality. Went with a set of 285/65r18 Toyo Open Country Extreme AT2S. Next will be super springs or air bags to help level it out while towing and to get more rake back. Also has NFAB 3 steps in wrinkle finish.

  38. Here's a brief summary of the changes that take place when we increase the size of our tires. Stock 18" tire - 265/65 18" (659 revolutions/mi.) My tires - 35" x 12.50" 20 (602 revs./mi.) *Tire specs based on Toyo AT II Since our speedo/odo are based on hub revolutions, the calcs indicate the error factor. 659/602=1.0947. Therefore the mileage shown on your odometer needs to be multiplied by this 1.0947 factor to get the actual mileage on your truck. Also this factor can be used to calc your actual speed. At 60 mph on your speedo, you're actually going (60x1.0947) almost 66 mph. If you're running 33"s the error factor is 1.06. Again, everything is based on hub revolutions per mile(odometer), per minute (speedo). This is taking into consideration that a programmer has not been installed. If my calculations are incorrect somebody please let me know.

  39. I am in the same exact boat as Hunter 79. From my research, I would echo the responses above in that BDS is a premier lift and Zone comes from the same parent. However, the BDS kit comes with skid plates and warranty, and replaces the struts where the Zone uses the stock struts and spacers. Either of BDS 4 or 6" kit will accept 35's and Zone states that 35's are "tight, may require trim" with the 4" lift. I think the owner has to evaluate how important mileage or performance is with either kit. With a lifted vehicle, both will suffer for numerous reasons. 35's weigh more and is more rotational impact than 33's, but for me, it is about balancing "the look" (4/33 or 6/35). Some 35's on 4 inch lifts look stuffed and 33's on a 6" lift look lost. You can re gear, but that is expensive. The speedo will be off by about 4-5 MPH but it does add up extra mileage on the odometer. You can recalibrate with a hand tuner, but it will show on the ECU and could void warranty. I have driven a Pro Comp 6"/35" and I didn't think it was too bad (5.3L with 3.42), but it was a 13-15 MPG vehicle (real world). I can live with that, but not 8-10 MPG. I also drove a 4"/35" Pro Comp Rocky Ridge at the dealer and thought it was fine too. New technologies have really changed the ride quality with lifted vehicles. I was not aware that the BDS coil over set up were adjustable 4-7". I would like to know more about that, as I would like to have some rake too. 5" in front and 6" in rear sounds ideal to me. Not sure if rear springs are needed over blocks. I do tow ATV and sleds, so I don't want a lot of squat. I am definitely in for BDS, just not sure what version to pull the trigger on, and plan to keep the stock 20's in any case. With 20's the 35's would offer more cushion for the sidewall of tire which would help ride. I would like to see more side by side pictures if anyone has some.

  40. 2" RC lift with 275/60r20 toyo open country at 2's. Couldn't resist replacing the grille after seeing a couple of example on these forums. Just wished it had come with the front license plate cover instead of two drilled holes in the center plastic plate.

  46. Had my AMP Power Steps installed today. Best investment I could have done! I love the way they work and look, but mostly my wife is extremely happy! I mentioned to the installer at Black Jack about the potential for an uneven gap. He said he would make sure the gap was exactly even front to back. Sure enough.... perfect! I also did a 2.25" Ready-Lift level kit. Front 39" / Rear 39".
