    That is an awesome car for someone who won the lottery. But like Snakeyes points out you can get faster cheaper. I got an high HP truck off Ebay for under 8K. Now if I won the loto that would be in my 36 bay garage.

    Most people when they mod the exhaust don't like the v4 sound, so they turn it off. I picked up a slight vibration along with the V4 sound so I turned it off. I had neither when the exhaust was stock. I think by now they fix the V4 oil burning problem.

    Most of the rust issues with frame rust people are screaming about will never effect the life of the truck. Ive had more than my share of old cars and trucks, none of them had treated frames unless I did it for looks. My latest lowered 22 year old truck is bare out side of a little surface rust is just fine. My new truck if I can see it a little rubberized undercoating fixes it. Im not going to look under the truck for a spot of surface rust that will never rust through the frame. The leased amount of time my truck spends at the dealer the better.

    That's a good point most of my working life when I bought a truck I had no time to even go in for an oil change. If it ran I drove it, did my own oil changes. I use to work out of my truck, it was my office. Only one truck didn't make it six months 94 Ram diesel, the rest went two years or three.

    Mine performs better and gets better mileage with 93 gas. I drive the same roads and get gas at the same place 90% of the time.

    Some states have 75 mph or higher, and you travel for work.

    I hope you have a buy back plan going, as much as you dislike your truck. I had a truck I hated once, in my case there was nothing wrong with the truck, it just was slow. 1997 Ford 7.3 auto 4x4 extended cab black loaded, pretty truck I hated it. I gave it to one of my crew guys to drive. I bought a ford f150 sport stick 4.6 2wd, it was about half the cost of the 97, that's how much I hated that 97. So what im trying to tell you is for peace of mind maybe you need to trade down, or trade for a certified pre own. If your like me all is not right in the world if you hate your ride. Good luck.

    Most people don't seem to have a vibration till after 70 MPH. IN the 9K miles I put on my truck, I have been on two trips of 500 miles, on one smooth as glass, second one slight vibration at 72 MPH. I believe it was the road. They are all a crap shoot, just check all the forums and see how people are fairing with all the brands and pick from there. That's what I did.

    Kind of reminds me of the old roadrunners and barracudas of the 70s and 80s . The problem was they were my DD so when they didn't start I had to fix them right now or walk. The good old days. Electric problems were normal for them.

    Some one needs to come up with a way to fry the computer, engine troubles fry the computer. Not something I would do of course.

    I was complimenting you that you like to work on your rides. ( he likes to work on his stuff witch is cool) for a moderator your quite sensitive. Ill stay away from this section, its all yours.

    He likes to work on his stuff, which is cool. My 04 Z71 went 200k with just back brakes, it went off road every day. In the other ride section looks like he is bleeding his brakes, I bet he don't have 10k miles on that. I had an 04 Z28 my wife drove one set of brakes every 50k miles, my wife waits to the last second to stop. Some people like to work on them, some like to drive them. I drive them, but its too hot to tinker here till Oct. then the buffer comes out.

    Michelin, Pirelli and Good year and after a few miles gone, just a few miles. I think its the heat it gets hot here. On my 14 so far no vibration.

    Mmm, I have spare cars and trucks with fairly new tires, wonder what the little bounce is I feel for a few miles when I drive them once a wk or two. Im with you on the first 3 though.

    Im not siding with GM but I can understand their position. If they just gave people back their money or made it easy, it wouldn't be long they would be out of business. They play the odds just like any other business. They could say you must be hitting pot holes and knocking it out of balance. I cant tell how many times over the years I heard, wow this is the first time I heard of that.

    I only have to put air in my tires once a year, in the winter I run my tires low for ride comfort in my cars and trucks. Once the outside air gets cold and the light comes on. In the summer I just let some out, about 2 lbs. Unless I run over a nail thats happen maybe twice. They may gain 2 lbs on the interstate when they warm up, that's in Texas at 75 MPH at 95 to 100 degrees.

    If you notice performance at all and you have a 14, 5.3 you will run E85 its a gift from GM that's keeps on giving. In most case its cheaper that 93 by a long shot. Even if it was a little more id buy it, its a cheap performance upgrade. High compression engines hate 87 gas.

    After extensive seat of the pants testing, even if E85 was a little more than 87 id buy it for the performance gain on the 14s. After all anyone who has had a performance car has paid extra for 93 gas. The best part it is cheaper. If it even mattered to me I get 15MPG on E85 in town, I got around 17 on 87.

    I don't know if will work on a hard part change, but when I do a tune (hand held) I pull all the TM out for a nice hit under part throttle. If want to lessen the hit and max RPM under full throttle I hit the tow haul button, if the wife is along for the ride. That drops it to 5500 RPM from 6000 RPM and calms down the shift.

    They are going to clean up. My brother in law bought two Toyotas just before I bought my GMC. Not a problem one and no V4, not as good on gas or as quick as mine but pretty nice. Im a hard core GM guy thou, happy with mine so far. If it starts shaking its gone.
