  1. If they fit a 2019, you could keep the old ones & change the illuminated ones out in the fall before snow with the old plates. That being said, I'd be worried the little tabs that hold the plates into the plastic trim would eventually wear & snap off - the only other alternative would be to have 2 sets of plastic pieces so you don't have to remove the metal inserts. Probably a bit more $$$ but might be worth it in the long run.
  2. Wow - they can't even get the reference images right in the work instruction - every one of them are backwards & upside down. ?
  3. Got the v807 update one morning during the past week as I was parking. I let the update run but a few days later the Passive Door Lock reset to OFF. It's done this one other time (randomly & not after the last update) so I'm not sure if the update had anything to do with it or not. Kind of ticks me off since there's no warning of any kind that a setting has changed & it's a security thing. I get used to just exiting the vehicle & it locking on its own. So much for conveniences, I guess. No other issues that I've noticed yet.
  4. Sorry, haven’t heard anything as of yet. I’ve been off on holiday/vacation since 12/19 & not returning until the 13th. Will talk to my engineering chief to see if anything has been discussed. I’m not going to hold my breath over much.
  5. Mine were as low as they could go & rattled at every position from the time I took delivery until the tech spread the bars apart. Haven’t had an issue with them since. They shouldn’t rattle regardless of the position.
  6. Please check your PM when you get a chance.
  7. ...or if the strike lasts longer (LOL), they may have enough of a wait on transmissions in Mexico & other parts elsewhere that they could do it in 2021 but I doubt that will happen then. Check my PM to you (in a few).
  8. If that's directed at me for whatever reason - 3 years with this truck meaning 3 years with this design (19 thru 21). A mid-cycle refresh (GM's words not mine) would exclude "this" truck and start with 2022 MY. If T1XX runs through 2025 model year, 2022 would be about half way since there are obviously no half year builds (2022 1/2). Mountains out of molehills, really - point being when the refresh is potentially coming. GM typically runs a bit longer than 2 years (2019, 2020) before diving into a refresh on the FST, particularly if they're going to work on the interior in a major way.
  9. 2022 MY would be the halfway point of the T1 and a highly likely candidate for a new interior. 3 years with this truck, 3+ years with mid-cycle refresh (unlikely any new sheet metal/aluminum - think front end change like K2XX along with a possible new interior).
  10. The stub shaft is available, just not through Customer Care Aftersales (CC&A, formerly GM Service Parts Organization). Read right above that - it tells how to order the stub shaft (in red box below). All that "This PI will be updated...." part means is the Parts Information section (parts list) will be updated with the correct part number once GM has settled on which stub shaft is actually going to fix the issue & when there are enough in inventory where they don't have to be special ordered. Granted, this document isn't worded in a manner that is perfectly clear either, IMO.
  11. It costs you nothing other than your time to call the dealership and discuss any issues with the truck & schedule an appointment. As @oldmann stated, a rattle would be covered under warranty if the dealership can duplicate the problem and if they know how to fix it. Basically, if you feel there is something not right with the truck other than normal wear & tear, the warranty should cover it free of charge. Until you get to understand what is & isn't covered, ask the service advisor if you will be charged before confirming your appointment. It's also a benefit to be aware that not every issue can be fixed upon its discovery. It may take GM months or years to fully resolve certain issues & come up with a proper repair procedure. This day & age, the dealer is often at the mercy of GM when it comes to fixing certain issues (think of things more complicated than a rattle).
  12. You’ve got a 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty for a reason, right? I’d be taking advantage of it.
  13. The touchscreen should show a Camera "app" on the home screen. Touch that and when driving fwd & at a certain speed you can view any of the available (at that time) camera views for 8 seconds. Not sure if this changes at all for the 2020 MY's. Didn’t read close enough, sorry. I don’t believe you can do this on the K2 trucks. T1 can though.
  14. Those are intentionally left open as they're intended to be used as grab areas when using the steps build into the bumpers (cut outs on each end of the bumper). They're kind of pointless IMO if you happen to have a multipro tailgate & use those steps versus the ones built into the bumper. I bought the caps sold on ebay made by some guy in IN (Schildmeier) & they match & fit perfect.

  16. You can always remove the cover - the Ultraflex comes out rather easily when strapped down & without the need for tools to do so. Can't say the same for the BAK & was the main reason I went with the Ultraflex. Cover alone weighs about 60lbs according to Undercover.
  17. Yes. I would recommend installing the included LED light on the rail before clamping the rails. The grab handle will be in the way and prevent the light from sliding towards the cab. You also may have to adjust the clamp location slightly near the grab handle which isn’t a big deal. If you go back & look at my post that you quoted you can see another member’s pic he provided & it shows the cutouts in the rails for fitment around the grab handle. You should also see why the light won’t slide from tailgate towards the cab.
  18. I will if I do - I'm hearing this second hand but from a direct participant in the meetings - no clue on the frequency of meetings either. Not to repeat myself over & over in several threads but I'm mainly trying to find out info on my particular noise issue (dealer says it's oil PCV related) but GM GPS claims they've yet to hear about that issue even though there's a PIP document out there since 10/2018 & supposedly an engineering change being considered. Kinda sounds like GM is all over the place and may not be getting all the information that's pouring in.
  19. Many odd noise complaints across several different topics (jingle jingle thread, squeaky belt/pulley thread, now this one). I realize that's nothing new, particularly with a first year new platform truck. I work for a large supplier to GM in the powertrain segment and I've been told just this that GM Global Propulsion Systems (GPS - formerly called Powertrain or GMPT) is investigating some noises due to metal stampings, some are heat shields on what I believe is just the 6.2L. This may or may not be related to any of the above noise complaints/issues though I'm doubtful it's related to the jingle jingle since that seems to be pointing to the front axle stub shaft. I know this isn't anything concrete or maybe not even worth posting. Just some info that may or may not put some owners at ease. No clue as to what specific components have been isolated by GM or where they might be, so please don't inquire further - I can't answer further because I simply don't know much more. I wish I could just call these guys up and give them symptoms and get questions answered but that would be frowned upon by my employer, I'm sure. Hang in there, guys.
  20. What kind of mileage are we talking about when the noise was first noticed?
  21. I'm going from memory here & I've not got it 100% memorized because it is a bit oddly set up. I believe once you put the vehicle into reverse to activate all POV, each icon is a different camera POV. On each icon, there are 2 dots, representing "options" for those views (try pressing the same icon twice). The last page seems to be the "main" viewpoint choice - or something to that effect. Play around with it a bit more - I might be completely off with my descriptions.
  22. If your clicking goes away in 4WD then I'd think it's the stub shaft issue. Like I've mentioned in that jingle thread, I had a loaner that I felt was making the jingle sound & it wasn't what I would call a clicking sound at all (I did listen to your videos & that wasn't what I heard - you could hear the sound inside the cab with windows up). The sound I heard sounded like tiny pebbles pinging around underneath. Listen to that first movie where the guy used his hand to make the ping clinking sound & imagine that sped up 2000 times - was a bit high pitched & definitely stopped when pushing the 4WD button. With that being said, I'm not qualified to say your issue is or isn't related to the stub shaft problem or what I heard was definitely the stub shaft noise. Also, what you feel is a click might described as a ping or other sound to me or someone else. Trying to communicate these sounds via words can be wishy washy at best, IMO. What would be just completely ironic is if the heat shield & other stamping issues GM GPS is supposedly looking at right now ended up curing all these mysterious sounds that have been described in various ways. ? I forgot to add to that bit of info in my post above that my chief sent the oil pcv PIP document to GM GPS because they'd never heard of any issues with the pcv making noises - yet there's a pip for a chirping noise coming from the engine (dated 10/2018 IIRC) & no fix due to a supposed engineering change being considered. That make me just roll my eyes & shake my head. Seems like no one at GM (at least among the powertrain folks) knows what's going on with strange noise concerns from customers - only what they've managed to find on their own after more than a year of building trucks and excluding their road test periods prior to production. Test drivers must have been wearing earbuds all day....?
  23. Got word yesterday via my chief engineer here at work that GM Global Propulsion Systems (GPS, formerly GM Powertrain) is investigating some exhaust heat shield & other stamping noises that fall under whistles, chirps and ticks that they've supposedly found & are looking to remedy. That's all the "inside" information I've been able to get without being overly pushy.
  24. Don’t understand why that color isn’t offered on the higher trim levels. I’m quite happy with my White Frost but the silver comes in a close 2nd for me.
  25. I agree, but more so with the indicators in the mirrors. Probably deleted because vehicles without blind spot alert can have the small trailering mirrors embedded in the upper left corner (driver's side, built into the mirror).
