  1. do this and maybe get more of the old out? I did this method on my truck and the wife’s suburban. Wasn’t too bad. 8 speed might be a little different
  2. I’ve been having what I thought was leaf springs rubbing and popping. My truck has always done the jerking sometimes when coming to a stop. It now has 111,000 miles plus on it. After searching for the sound of the screeching I decided to pull the drive shaft off and pour dexron vl fluid in the slip yoke. The jerking has stopped and so has the rear end noise. (The transmission jerking is a long going issues with the older model gm trucks…search gm drive line clunk). Basically the slip yoke needed lubricating. The older models you could just grease them but I was scared to with the newer transmissions. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.
  3. I’m running 305/45/22 Michelins with 1.5 level. No rubbing. They are a newer wheel though so not sure about the offset.
  4. I picked these up this week after my snowflakes started leaking. Honestly think I like the snowflakes better… I had never seen them before though.
  5. Went to go help my MIL with no electricity in this storm. Had to stop and move a limb, it looked like a Chevy commercial so I took a pic.
  6. Are you wanting mood lighting or just entry exit lighting? If mood lighting use an add a circuit and connect to the trailer light power fuse under the hood. This will make the lights come on anytime the headlight/park lights are on.
  7. I personally wouldn’t try to blow it myself. Just try to find a fuse that is rated to whatever your gonna try to power. The add a circuit will only carry so much also... from what you say you want to power they should be fine. I’m not sure about the air horn but you might could just go straight off the battery with an in line fuse in the new power line. Put the inline fuse within 12 inches of the battery though. Take your time and do it right. Don’t burn down your rig trying to do more than the wires can handle...Have fun.
  8. Don’t up the size of the fuse. I would use something that won’t leave you stranded if you were to blow them and not have a spare fuse. (Radio, Heater, etc..). For my LEDs I tied into the trailer running light fuse under the hood so mine would come on when the lights were on. (My leds are mood lighting in the floorboards.) they have a separate switch so I can turn them off if I’m tired of them.
  9. Found some 22s. Pretty pleased with the new look.
  10. I removed my rear blocks and just used washers on the ubolts. No money spent. Ended up putting blocks back and doing 1.5 inch spacer one the front. Sometimes it looks level, sometimes nose down, sometimes nose high. To me it’s as close as I’m gonna get and still be able to pull a trailer some.
  11. OEM NEW Illuminated Bow Tie Emblem Kit Front Rear Black 2017 Silverado 84129741 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6BBWSF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_TSW5DbEZ9X37K this is the one I got. I have a 2018 came with the harness and all. It was oem equipment.
  12. Plug and play into your headlights harness. Go on with park lights. Pretty nice at dusk and dark, but useless during the day....
  13. Update on my 2018 cc short bed. Had the Goodyears RF balanced 3 different times. Each time it was better but after a few thousand miles the shimmy would come back. (Rotating the tires would also change how much it shook.) A coworker went to trade her truck in yesterday (2017 exactly the same to a 2019 RST) so I bought her wheels and tires from her. She had 1 year old Michelin’s on the same style 20” rim. Night and day difference smooth as glass no hint of a shake. Almost wanted to cry. So happy to get rid of that shimmy. Never ever touching Goodyears again....
  14. Awhile back I went with a Flowmaster 50 with dual pipes out the back left the flapper. Got tired of the loudness and tried the 24” Magnaflow. It was still too loud (I guess I’m getting older). We put a 18” glass pack (straight thru) in front of the flapper after the cats, and after the flex pipe....sound is about perfect now. My question is to u experts. Do you think adding the glass pack that close will do any long term harm? Just FYI: I would say the mangaflow felt better on performance than the Flowmaster, but the mangaflow was louder also.
  15. I like 4 also. I’d be worried about rock chips on the bumper with the others. All look pretty sharp though.
  16. I started early too. Use to drag race the 69 with my Dad. He started when I was 14 and I took over at 16. We sure had some good times. He’s gone but I still have the car. Added the 67 in 2001.
  17. I used the square plastic license plate screw holders.
  18. That’s pretty a good improvement. Thanks!
