  1. Nice! I was wondering what happened to you. Glad he got it to work with minimal work to the reservoir. Just keep an eye on the reservoir because the intake will move/vibrate with the engine and looks like it may rub on the reservoir.
  2. Thanks! I was looking at some of the super high end ones and loved how they looked so rugged. Then decided just to go the DIY route and spend the money elsewhere. I must say I have received numerous complements from people looking for racks. From those who already have pre-fab racks I get nothing but stares and hate ?
  3. I got them from https://www.compactcampingconcepts.com/ I got the unfinished ones and then painted them myself. I was in a hurry for a trip to Zion so had to throw it together quickly. If I had more time and money, I'd get everything powder coated or use bedliner spray on them. I got the cross bar (square 1.25") and angle iron for a local metal shop. Then I found comparable from Home Depot for cheaper! I went with 2" angle iron, which is overkill.
  4. The price of the bedracks are ridiculous these days. I ended up going the DIY route. Just angle iron, lateral supports from compact camping concepts. Everything came under $250. Fits my stock tri-fold, which takes up a lot of room on the rails. Some drilling is involved.
  5. @tp503 nice intake! good to know it will fit 5.3 eAssist. Just get a reducing coupler from the local autoparts store and it should fit fine! Looking at the instruction manual, it's already in there.
  6. Which intake did you get? Looks like you got one for a 6.2L and have the 5.3L? It should come with a coupler to make it fit either Throttle Bodies. I got mine elbow at http://www.siliconeintakes.com/ looks sketchy but shipped on time. Also, if you are worried about the silicone elbow collapsing, you may want to get thicker ply one, throw some hose clamps around it, or use a rubber elbow. I haven't had issues with it collapsing at WOT so I left it as is.
  7. This would be the way to go. I just wanted to make things harder for myself.
  8. Hi, I got 84089441 which now has been replaced by 84533096. The intake pipe will hit the coolant reservoir. You will need to move it or modify the pipe so not a direct fit. https://youtu.be/DhintqXchXs
  9. Sorry guys totally dropped the ball! H ere is a couple of pix. Fit it in at end of the intermid pipe, just before the Borla GMPP mulffler with flapper.
  10. I have a crew cab short box and was able to fit a resonator before the muffler.
  11. Wow the price has increased substantially since I purchased mine in late 2018. The filter is washable. I also purchased in AEM dryflow filter for half the cost of GMPP one from Amazon so that I wouldn't have to wait for the filter to completely dry before I can use the truck. When I wash the AEM, I will reinstall the GM one.
  12. Looks like the ported TB for 5.3 is now available! Someone buy this and let us know how it feels! https://www.solerengineering.com/store/se
  13. Borla or Corsa for longevity and quality. Borla for a sportier sound, corsa for the rumbly growl. I have the GMPP Borla. it's supposed to be touring but it definitely is louder than the Borla touring (non-GMPP). Has flapper so no chop in V4. I should have gotten the Corsa ahahaah.
  14. LOL...China or not, I installed mine this week and love it so far. I've only driven on it for 2 miles but it made all the difference in the world. Felt like dropping a tooth in the rear.
  15. It's in your dash display setting. A few of them will show V4 or V8 mode on the bottom. The fuel economy and trip meter ones will show it.
  16. Read his question. Required vs optimal is not the same.
  17. No it is not required. If you go any taller than 2.5" then you will want to change the UCA.
  18. You can do it fine. You may have issues finding someone who can calibrate the speedo for the tire size. I'm pretty sure the dealer can do this.
  19. It's not quite a "drone" really. It is louder, but not a drone. Sounds nice. Try and ride in someone truck, or even car, with it installed. Unlike an exhaust drone, the added noise will not hurt your head. After years of being married, I've become very sensitive to noise. CAIs provide pleasant notes.
  20. Yea cognito's instruction also says to mount from top. Any cutting required with the krypto?
  21. Looks like this may be for a 2019+ 5.3L as they come with 3" pipes before the muffler. Did you pay with a CC? If so, contest it with your credit card company. Otherwise, contact borla to see if they can help you out. Last resort, take it to a muffler shop and have them make you a 3.5" pipe to fit.
  22. @prtsguru just release the brake a little early so it wakes up then mash on it. I too had the clunk before...not a great experience. Also had a few times when the truck had turned off before it was done shifting first, so when it started back up there was a small klunk from the truck shifting back into first. Other than this, enjoying the truck still. Saving up to level it next.
  23. I have the GMPP Borla with the flapper in it so it doesn't drone in V4. I did clamp it open awhile ago and it did chop pretty hard in V4. I'm sure with the 40 series, would drone a ton. I finally did get my hands on a Range and with the 8 speed, it didn't work very smoothly at all so I ended up uninstalling it and letting a friend try it out. Now i'm just driving in "D" and letting it do its thing.
  24. Some of the kits just use double sided tape. For my set up I mounted the lights on a pieces of cut aluminum trim (long 90 degree piece) and then used small panel clamps (tighten with nuts) to clamp it onto the grill. No holes drilled and has held on for quite some time now.
  25. the camera has been better than any of our other cars, so it feels like a step up. now our infiniti QX60...what an absolute POS. I remember we used to think it was so great until we got the sierra.
