  1. It's not offset, it's the shape of the spoke and hub and such that matters. Offset controls where the hub mating surface is in relation to the outer edges of the rim, but has very little to do with the spokes that connect the hub surface of the wheel to the rim of the wheel. The backside of the spokes have to be angled out from the hub toward the outer face of the wheel in order to clear the calipers, moreso than in previous models.
  2. From the manual (page 232): https://my.gm.ca/content/dam/gmownercenter/gmna/GMCC/dynamic/2019/chevrolet/Silverado/en/19_CHEV_Silverado_OM_en_US_U_23400204A_2018MAY17.pdf So it's not really saying specifically what happens when you choose L2, but it's definitely indicating there is an L2 behavior change like in the past.
  3. lol you got me. This morning while my USB stick was indexing after it lost its mind, I decided to try the FM button. Haven't had my antenna attached for months now. Nope! No good here, but that was expected.
  4. Of course it does. Because you can't have it "yet". From: https://www.pr.com/press-release/768652
  5. Curious, why does the type of spring matter for an anti-roll bar? Leaf springs don't connect the right and left sides any more than coil springs do, no?
  6. Might those be intended for the "19 Silverado LD"? I see a lot of stuff out there claiming '19 but they're only intending the legacy, not the new body. While it's certainly possible they could be the same for both bodies, I think it's very doubtful. "just because" -Dave
  7. That there is the contradiction inherent in your question, basically. I'm about to sell a 16yr old Quadrasteer truck. I expect to be waiting a while to get a good price, but that very rare and desirable feature should increase value. The very few people that know and want Quadrasteer will pay a premium for it. There's not a lot of demand, but there's probably even less supply. If the bench seat option was rare, then it could increase value, but it's not rare. There will be plenty of supply though and not a lot of demand because "so many people into bucket seats".
  8. It's ok that you feel that way. You probably shouldn't lift your truck then.
  9. That's funnny, the Denali grille was a huge turn-off for me.. too much bling. I ended up buying a Silverado HC instead partly because of that. While I was at the GMC/Chevy dealer buying it I saw a blue AT4 there and realized I hadn't considered or even looked at them at all really. If I had seriously looked at an AT4 I might be driving a Denali with an AT4 grille today instead.
  10. Not new for these engines either. It's not a cobbled kit, Magnuson makes a clean bolt-on setup with a shrink-wrapped tune and solid instructions. It's about as dead-simple to get right for our trucks as anything. I was even able to install one myself on my LQ4 and remove/reinstall one on an LM7 before that.
  11. Yeah, those non-DOT legal HID retrofit kits are terrible. Xenon arcs have entirely different shapes (and resulting reflections) than standard halogen bulbs. They are not cool for low beams. For high beams.. whatever floats your boat I guess. The most obnoxious offenders around me are the ones with LED light bars hanging on the front bumper on with the low beams. On city streets with streetlights. I guess they think they look cool. Or maybe like the F-150 driver this morning with the tailgate sticker "Unapologetically American" lol.
  12. For my arch-shaped lower garage door I chopped 4" or so off my old truck's antenna. Green loctite to glue the top ball back onto the mast after trimming. Still get the benefit of early warning when I'm off center into the arch door before the cab hits, but no need for it to be so much taller than the roof.
  13. Mine were with the wheel lock key and the original lugs the locks replaced. Make sure you also get the lugs/locks you paid for, and the floor liners, etc. Bad PDI. No cookie!
  14. No, the trailer TPMS sensors are different than the vehicle sensors. I looked into this when I got my winter setup. 433 MHz Vehicle sensors are cheap and easy to come by though: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gm-Tpms-Sensor-19355193/332553029771
  15. The steering wheel does telescope now, not just tilt. It's not the same and won't help your boots but might help your wife.
  16. The paperwork I saw for GM Finance specifically indicated no fees or penalty for prepayment/payoff of the loan. One of the dealers I was talking to explained that they wanted a "gentleman's agreement" from me to keep the loan for 6 months and a minimum of 50% financed after very ungentlemanly springing these requirements on me after I let them ping my credit report. Moving the goalposts in a deal.. not cool. 60 months at 7% for 50% or higher would cost more than the incentive I was getting. No thanks. Apparently if you pay off the loan immediately then GM takes the incentive back from the dealer. GM Finance doesn't penalize you for prepayment, but the dealer absolutely wants to lol. Of course your paperwork might read differently, so read it carefully.
  17. Well, it always comes back to "no louder than" that maximum level. If you have it lower, it'll come back where you left it.
  18. I tried working with them, but no love. That $9k probably includes $2k incentive for a trade-in from 2005 or newer which they no doubt will take that $2k back from you on. I believe another part of it was a financing incentive, and their interest rates were terrible. I mentioned before I ended up at Banks in NH, and with the Costco program basically got a similar or better deal than Quirk's with none of that hassle going on. Quirk was only $8k off MSRP at the time, so no idea if Banks has kept up.. things have changed obviously. I did have to call Banks for their price though, they were not listing prices other than MSRP on their website at the time. They don't mess around though, the call was absolutely worthwhile and while I doubt I'll be shopping again any time soon I would call them first.
  19. Careful using that cubby, some glasses nose-pads are sensitive to UV or heat and start to crumble, my Revos never did well left in the sun like that. Silicone and solid nose pads should be fine.
  20. A pickup truck is an awesome regular-carry multi-tool for when you don't want to carry all of your tools all of the time. When I'm hiking/trekking/camping I leave the ladle and the spoon at home honestly. A spork is the right tool for the job.
  21. Of course. A year-old truck is worth less, you should expect to pay less. Resale value is definitely lower. Even if you're buying it "new", as soon as you drive it off the lot it's a year older than the 2020 that it was just sitting next to on the lot. It's just low-mileage, it ain't "new". In Oct/Nov my year-old 2019 is also going to be a year old, but I'll have gotten to enjoy it for the year at least. Yeah that has a cost associated with it.
  22. That's funny, when I was shopping for mine that was one of the most-advertised and talked-about features. It's cool, but now that I have it I really find the mirror view much better in general. The mono-camera can't move as easily or provide much depth perception. Way better than nothing when the bed cover is folded up blocking the whole window though!
  23. Right, to start the truck when the fob battery is dead you place it in the center console pocket between the cupholders (don't recall bench seat location), and the truck can detect it passively rather than the normal active transmitting mode. You only need the physical key to open the door when the fob battery is dead.
  24. lol everyone just ignores the part about sleeping in it overnight when you need the heater on
  25. Fair enough. Can parts even be sourced right now is a fair question too.
