AT4 owners, how tall are you?
killramos replied to FknLeon's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
5’11”, I don’t feel like my height is much of an issue with the truck. However if you spend any amount of time in parkades this truck is TALL. I hit key antenna on every pipe and sign at my parkade at work. And this is with the Duratrac 18’s on the truck ( which ACTUALLY have slightly smaller diameter than the stock 20’s if you actually check the tire specs. 32” vs 33” stock ), actually with the 18’s my truck is barely taller than a Denali. I wouldn’t even consider going into any parkades that are under 6’8. side by side with a stock Denali at work for comparison. -

I swear it was shorts and t shirts weather a week ago... that said AT4 on the duratracs was a champ, passed tons of fools in the ditch. -

That’s what the bastards at the weather channel say, 3 straight days of snow over the weekend. -

Took the AT4 for a little rip into the mountains to take the dog for a walk (any excuse to get out of town) -
Tire size suggestions and pics on AT4/Trail Boss
killramos replied to mattsvtcobra's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
Didn’t read all 5 pages, and this might all sound pretty cute compared to the 35+ many and running in here but... Has anyone else noticed that the off road performance package duratracs are actually smaller than the stock AT4 tires? 33’s stock and 32’s on the off road pack... frustrating. -
Car wash preferences
killramos replied to Brandon Adams's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Car has PPF and Ceramic. All I do is wand wash every week or 2. Step 1 Spray the car with presoak foam if the wash has it. Imo this is the only thing that actually cleans the clear. Step 2 pressure wash with soap Step 3 pressure wash no soap to rinse. Step 4 once over to check for stuck bugs or sap etc. Step 5 if I feel rich is a spot free rinse of distilled water. 10 minutes at the wash. And works wonders whether it’s mud, snow and salt, dust, bugs and tar from a rod trip. Whatever. Same wash I do for my AMG and 3 years of ownership it looks like it came off the showroom floor. -
6.2 Engine: To Premium Or Not, Facts Here
killramos replied to truck_newbie's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Is the 6.2 11.5:1? Versus 11:1 in 5.3. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/212098-official-2019-53l-62l-v8-engine-specs-are-here/ -
Just get tires the same OD as stock and your speedo will work fine. There are online calculators that you can put the stock size in and it will tell you equivalent size in a different rim. Also even the “mandatory winters” in Canada (Province if Quebec, and B.C. Highways) are still based on the snowflake standard which comes woefully short of a true winter tire. For context, the Pirelli PZero AS tires that came on my mustang in Arizona met the snowflake symbol standard. And they were near slicks.

A good saying around here is that 4x4 will help get you out of the ditch, but not prevent you from hitting it. Winter tires 100% have their place.

bought a code 4300 car on July 21st, finally was ready for delivery August 21st after a series of dealer transfers and hiccups. Kindof a mess. That said, love the truck and it was well worth the wait!.

I plan on using the Duratracs that come with my off road performance pack. They are actually pretty solid tires for deep snow. Where they start to fall behind is on ice, where dedicated winters (esp with studs) perform much better. Overall dedicated winters are much better, but I have always found the gap to be a fair bit smaller for Truck AT tires to Truck winters than passenger car all seasons to winters. I would run something mountain snowflake rated for sure, just know the bar for that symbol is not very high if you see real winter. For size, Just keep same overall diameter tire, but a little less rim always helps.

So installing this precludes the use of the under seat locker? (Sorry haven’t had my truck delivered yet) I was hoping to make good use of the locker to store SG’s/rifles

It’s a 19 and I wanted to lock in the incentives. my deposit was fully refundable I suppose but yes I signed conditional on truck availability (didn’t have a confirmed vin when I bought) so I suppose I could back out if I needed to? Don’t want to though.

Yea I asked for order # and they gave me VIN. Dealer is being typically helpful now that the deal is signed and they booked the sale lol

Any of you guys know how to get order number for tracking purposes from a VIN? I feel like I have harassed my dealer to much for timing so it would be nice to know when the truck lands...

GM Financing - Early refinance
killramos replied to ColoradoDaily's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
To be fair, I agree he was just trying to help and my intention is not to poke fun. The shit can be complicated if you don’t have the right background, I knew people taking MBA’s who still didn’t understand how loan amortization worked. -

GM Financing - Early refinance
killramos replied to ColoradoDaily's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
That isn't necessarily true, depends on if the rebates are stackable or not. For example, I just got 0% for 72mo ( way longer than I would usually consider financing but hey 0% ia 0% ) with $0 down, dealer invoice pricing +1.5%, less $2,650 GM credit, $500 Costco gift card and i negotiated a thrown in tonneau cover as well. If i didn't take the financing i could have had $3,600 taken off the truck instead of that incentive, but by my math for each 1% over 0 the i would have otherwise financed the truck the 0% interest promo is worth a little over $4,200 so I will take the finance and let my money earn a return elsewhere instead. All I am trying to say is you need to take each deal at face value rather than generalize.
