  1. using GM upgrade parts from other models seems to be what I found works best, after that, you gotta make your own stuff.. what truck package do you own?
  2. what conditions warrant why do you guys manually shift each gear up or down? 6 , 8 or 10 speeds trans? there are tables that can dial it in better in the tcm, will require lots of time cleaning up the down shift firmness and clutch fill time, inertia factors etc
  3. hptuners, and "the tuning school" books 90% aftermarket parts are TRASH
  4. sounds like its loosing pump pressure, not sensing the correct psi for shift to occur. time to run a data log
  5. try bypassing the valve cover vent tubes from the intake system with a set of valvecover breather filters, plug the intake tube ports to the CAI with caps
  6. hptunes has an aux control for aftermarket cooler fans on a trans cooler? i need a walk thru video on how to do this
  7. you might want to add the oversized front bar, and rear swaybar kit, I've done this and its hands down amaizing for the street and twisty mountain roads, it would compliment the lowering job very well. if you dont want to bust your ass installing the rear sway kit, then just do the big front bar, its super easy to do while you change your oil
  8. 40 Hp wow, is it possible they are giving off so much noise it's effecting the ignition timing. those wires might be designed for Magneto ignition and not HEI COP style
  9. usually if you need a converter, your gonna need the Pump too , your parts cost is already over $1000 for pump and converter, the more you drive it the worse it gets.. try just pumping out all the trashy fluid via cooler line, i would run 3 gallons of fluid thru it
  10. why does Honda use a resister plug on their single cylinder thumper dirtbike motors?? if the resister suppresses current, does this mean it improves the voltage spark? this was informative for me..
  11. i dont see the point of lowering a truck, i just recently did the front level lift, only because i drive dirt roads and fire trails, the extra lift of .75-1.0" block is much nicer than stock for my use as a daily. it feels like a 2500 truck now. i dont slow down for dips in the road at intersection, no scraping the air damn when pulling up to a parking stall, still clears under ground parking. my only issue is headlamps need re-aiming and tire aglignment. good luck on your drop kit
  12. need resistance in the wires and in the spark plugs, otherwise the coil doesnt charge up fully, you'll get weaker spark. the resistor is apart of the engineering, by holding back the energy until it blows it's load so to speak.. and its needed for noise suppresion so not to interfere with the ecu , radio, bcm, etc.. a points distributer likes low resistance, because its all mechanical and takes time to transfer spark thru the ignition, HEI is different
  13. is there prejudice against ACdelco wires
  14. i would try a hair colder plug
  15. extreme flow rocker cover vents!
  16. yank the the trans stat, and maybe add cpu fans to the trans cooler, I use the ac switch to activate them. Check out Pmoore4321 on Youtube. save you a lot of RanD time. I would also have a trans shop pull the converter and install the 6 bolt converter from a 2500 truck, or go with the cts-v for more stall. Katec has the 175 engine stat you need
  17. if you go 6L90 is would look at the Isuzu NPR 4500 HD I don't belive it uses a TCC in the converter. mucho beefier and might have a forged billet tailshaft, I'm still collecting data on it
  18. I sold my 20's few years ago got z71 18" great upgrade, shocks are happier too, just rently swapped in a new set of 17" alloys off a T1 truck onto my K2 much better ride than the 18" IMO
  19. in the CAI intake pipe is two hose fittings to the valve covers, try disconnecting the two ports and plugging them with 5/8 water heater plugs from autozone. this will stop any un-metered air from bypassing the MAF, then order a set of valve cover breather filters , install into valve cover ports. dont forget to tighten the clamps around the tb and the maf
  20. try using the 6 bolt style converter for the 6L90E 2500 trucks with 6.0 used this one
  21. onstar is useless , the gps antenna sits on the roof, snip it ,and they are blind.
  22. anyone try going clutchless converter, maybe lower stall to comp. for lack of lock up like on the old 70's smog cars before tcc? i remember th350s went as low as 900-1200 rpm stall
  23. you might have to upgrade the OS to manipulate the fans and temps to your desired value, call either the tuning school or HPTuner forum. hint** you can trip the cooling fans to come on by setting the AC to coldest setting and highest fan speed, this is done to cool the ac condenser, so it bypasses the engine fan logic, but i doubt it runs 100% duty cycle probably 50% is more like it makes me wish i could adapt the 6.0 water pumps pully and mechanical fan off a 2500 truck if your fans are on the entire time you either have a stuck open thermostat or the AC is switched on
  24. just wait to see what our power bills are in the next two years when EV's take over the roads. they're gonna hit us hard.. my power this month jumped 20% and I'm in a cool climate so never ran the AC this summer
  25. cheaper to convert to a built 4L80 , its doable
