  1. You're 100% right. The Bose sound system is fine, but compared to the 17-speaker Harmon Kardon in the Ram it's night and day. Really disappointing by comparison.
  2. Those are the most expensive fog lights I've ever seen.
  3. I think Z71 has recently been the "slightly tougher than the non-Z71" version. They add skid plates, a different grill insert and/or bumper, some badging, and slightly stiffer shocks or something. It's not *really* going to compete offroad with things like a Jeep or a Bronco. But it's a 3-ton 18 foot long SUV. It's not a rock crawler. Even the Z71 version is basically just telling people "Look, if you go camping, this can probably go through a dirt road that's got some mud and/or holes in it, provided they're not too bad."
  4. They didn't "forget" They chose to not offer them as another way to make GMC products seem slightly higher-end than the Chevrolet products. I don't agree with the decision at all, but this isn't like somebody is at HQ going "Oh crap, we forgot foglights!"
  5. Was it available in 2019 MY when the refresh happened?
  6. I really hope they start offering that 6.2L in the other trim lines in 21/22/23 model years.
  7. Does anybody know if the 6.2L engine will be offered in the AT4 or Z71 or do I have to get a High Country/Denali to get that?
  8. Right? I bought my wife's 2010 Suburban LT 2wd in 2013, it had 40k miles on it and I got it for $30k. At the time the sticker would have been almost $60k new. Now it's got 160k miles on it and is beat to ****** (tons of little kids spilling juice boxes and whatnot) but all the kids are old enough not to spill anymore so we're looking at replacing it soon. Hard to justify $70k for a 2021 when a 2019 with 40k miles can still be had for $35k or so.
  9. I'm a big fan of lighter colored leather interiors because the sun out here in CA makes black interiors super hot in the summer. My favorite color combo has always been a cherry red or deep metallic blue with light tan or camel colored interior. I hope they'll offer something like that soon.
  10. Looks great. Out here the dealer down the road said some guy paid $15k over asking for the first one on the lot. He also has a book of reservations like 50 names deep to call when they arrive. I really like the Yukon over the Tahoe/Suburban this time around, but they're both big improvements over the last gen.
  11. I'll buy a 2 year old CPO for $50k with 30k miles on it haha
  12. Personally my wife has been chewing my ear off about getting one with heated seats, but that 2010 LT 2wd she's driving has 160k miles and is still going strong. Some cosmetic issues (we've got 3 kids all under 10 haha) so it's probably not worth much on a trade-in or even resale, we'd be lucky to get $10k for it, more likely $7-8k or a $5k trade-in. My 2014 High Country is great (and like you said - I've seen no real reason to upgrade to a 2020 or newer Silverado as the improvements were incremental) but I would like to have our big family vehicle be the nice one, so to speak.
  13. Totally. But I can't imagine anybody taking a huge depreciation on a 1 year old $60K+ car for any feature unless they really hated their existing one. Normally at this time I'd be looking for insane deals on a 2020 Suburban they were trying to clear off the lot to make room for the 2021s since the changes weren't drastic and certainly aren't worth an extra $10k+ but with the low inventory they're still keeping their cards close to the vest, so to speak.
  14. I see where you're coming from, but to me the fact that they went IRS and offer the Diesel engine and the 6.2L on more trim lines is pretty nice. The interior space is a big improvement as well, and I don't see "pointless stuff" added to the interior really on the 2021 models personally. The Escalade definitely looks nice. That 38" screen dash is sweet. I think the interior of the Denali is almost as nice and looks really great, especially in the tan color
  15. I mean, underneath they all share the same frame, drivetrain, engines, etc? So why is the Escalade next-gen while the Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban not? Are you referring strictly to the interior?
  16. Depends where you're coming from, my wife has a 2010 Suburban LT with 160k miles on it. The new Suburbans and Yukon XLs look like a significant upgrade for us.
  17. Agreed, I like this look a lot more on the SUV than the truck even. Can’t wait to see the Yukon.
  18. Wow. I really like that look. It's bold, different, and aggressive. Especially in that color. Not insanely crazy about the CHEVROLET in stencil font across the grill (but I guess the Raptor kind of made that popular).
  19. My 2014 only has 50k miles on it, but I called in to get the recall anyway. I change the oil every 3-4k miles and full synthetic but never hurts to be cautious. Thanks to the OP for the heads up.
  20. The reason that a lot of people like trucks and big SUVs is because of the comfort. They ride high, offer great visibility, are huge inside with lots of room...yeah the handling and the speed and whatever aren't sports cars, but I'd rather drive a Suburban for a 8 hour drive than a Corvette for the same distance. I don't mind if they offer creature comforts. Having things like heated/cooled seats is pretty nice. I just wish they weren't all bundled together. Good luck trying to find a truck with cloth bucket seats and a NAV unit for example.
  21. It really does look good in the rendering. Reminds me of the GMT800 Suburban grill a little.
  22. I just hope they offer the 6.2L in all trims. My wife's 2010 Suburban with the 5.3L is fine if it's just a few of us, but load it up with people and luggage and it gets a little sluggish comparatively. Also I'd love to see a Trail Boss or AT4 version with the cosmetic adjustments and the 2" factory lift. Not planning to offroad it or anything, just like the look a lot more and the extra height is nice for visibility.
  23. One of the things that drives me nuts about my wife's 2010 Suburban - that second row, man. We've got young kids. Two car seats. The LATCH system is not on all three seat locations in that second row. Only two. The middle, and the passenger side. Only problem with that is that the passenger side is the flip-down seat to get access to the back row! What the hell were they thinking there? Luckily the new ones have it on all locations. But I can't even imagine what the logic was behind that.
  24. My 2014 High Country. Owned it about 4 months now. Had 6700 miles when I bought it, 15,000 now. Having owned a 2007 Sierra SLE2 and a 2007 Tahoe LT3, each with the 5.3L, I have to say I love *love* the 6.2L motor. My wife's 2010 Suburban has the 5.3L as well, and I have to say the difference is still massive. The extra power is significant. I will also say I'm kind of disappointed in the internal cabin space of the Silverado. The F150 feels a lot roomier - hell my 07 Sierra felt a lot roomier, and it had bucket seats in front too. The Silverado rear seats also feel a bit tighter with less legroom than the F150 or my buddy's Tundra. But the rest of it is awesome. Interior, features, stereo...even the mileage is decent, with 15-16 city and 20-21 hwy.
  25. Yeah it's more for pickup trucks because we get classified as "Commercial Vehicles" in CA. When I sold my Sierra and bought a Tahoe from my mom for a couple years, I was shocked that her yearly registration was so much lower even though the cars were the same year and hers had a $12k higher MSRP originally.
