  1. You've only got 833 miles and that MPG is only double digits and you circled right over what the left digit is. What is the total average MPG on a few screens down?
  2. They did away with the E85 when they went from the LS based motor to the LT based motor. My Avalanche is E85 5.3.
  3. 6.2L Because go big or go home! Of course when I ordered it gas wasn't stupid expensive! I got to order my truck and decided it wasn't too much more to go with the 6.2 over the 5.3 and in the Custom trim the trans was the bigger difference, from the 6 speed with the 5.3 to the 10 speed with the 6.2. The diesel wasn't an option on the Custom TB in 21.
  4. I picked up a waterproof stainless momentary switch from ebay for $5.25 shipped. I'm glad there's the same hole on the passenger side as I have the Multi Flex tailgate and the handle in the bed uses that hole so I'll have to put my switch on the passenger side.
  5. Asks forum for opinion. Proceeds to tell everyone their opinion is wrong and only his is right. LOL BTW new DEX OS oil is now DEX OS2 Mobil 1 is rated as this in the 5W30 and 0W20 weights I have purchased. For my Magnum with the 5.7 Hemi the 5W20 oil isn't DEX OS rated, but GM doesn't use that weight oil in any of their vehicles. Heard lots of stories of dropped lifters with people using 5W30 in the Hemi's instead of the recommended 5W20. 150K on my Hemi with Mobil 1 and still going strong. My 6.2 I changed oil at 1000 miles and just changed again after almost 5300 miles. Using Mobil 1. First change was with extended protection and this change was extended fuel economy. Don't know what the real differences are or if they even matter when changing oil around 6K.
  6. I'd go with aftermarket. I love Fortin kits. You get a plug in harness and you can buy the flash programmer to program the options how you want it to work. You can add long distance remotes and 2 way remotes as well. I've done several vehicles with them. My truck has factory remote start but I already have the main unit and extended range remotes so I just need to spend the $85 for the plug in harness.
  7. NO, since I cut out the muffler and flapper. If you're looking for just cutting out the flapper, it would be best to take it to a muffler shop. The 6.2 uses 3" pipe. I'm not sure what the 5.3 uses. I'm guessing 2.5".
  8. Just for those that don't know what the flapper valve looks like inside the pipe. You can see the heavy bottom side at the top of the picture on the OEM muffler after I cut it out of the pipe. That tiny hole is all that is open unless it has enough exhaust pressure to overcome the tension on the spring that is on the outside of the pipe. Even if you do the "hack" to hold the valve open, you still have that huge hunk of metal blocking the flow in the pipe.
  9. It's not "trim" it's part of the door handle. You can buy gloss black stick on covers if you have textured black, which is what I did on my Custom Trail Boss.
  10. NO muffler, just the Magnaflow straight pipe. Resonators are still in place in the back. The 6.2 has real resonators and not the screened junk the 5.3's have.
  11. Yes, muffler and flapper valve(only had one on my truck in front of muffler) and replaced with Magnaflow straight pipe. Unless you count changing the oil at 1000 miles with Mobil 1 and a Purolator Boss filter!
  12. He had problems with it holding the gear he wanted as it kept wanting to upshift so the numbers show a range.
  13. Stock 6.2 10 speed with cut off muffler and flapper with 1970 miles on the truck put down 387HP and 465 LB/FT torque on a 90+ degree day with 60% humidity.
  14. Your 18 had AFM and not DFM. That's the difference. I chopped my muffler and flapper on my 6.2 and I'm fine with it. If you don't like it get something to disable the DFM.
  15. Yeah, it's called the rocker panel coating like I said. It's essentially this stuff except whatever GM brand uses. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40071593/
  16. That's the rock guard they put on the truck and the metallic is making it look like chips because they are at different angles being in the thicker painted area than the rest of the paint. Look at your rockers underneath the cab and you will see the same thing.
  17. Pretty sure ALL high countrys have the gold/bronze trim.
  18. Your other option is to find some vinyl wrap that's the same color and wrap them, or paint them.
  19. No, it won't. I ordered a 4" and 3" square tube plug and neither fit. It's not actually square, it's rectangle shaped. I got an ebay message from the company I bought the round and small rectangular plugs from asking if I could provide measurements of the larger rectangle plug and they would attempt to make the part. I had measured it prior to them messaging me, but now I have to re-measure and provide them pictures.
  20. Atmosphere is not the trim piece, it's the brownish color interior available. You want Jet Black.
  21. I got mine on ebay that was a new with minor marks on it. Seller is greatlakessales_313
  22. There are no clips. The emblem has them molded in. I replaced my Z71 with a black bowtie. I just reached my fingers through the holes above the emblem and pushed the tabs aside and out and it popped loose. The new emblem just pops right back into place.
  23. GM part number is 84297538 Ebay Link I didn't buy them as I'm wanting something wider.
  24. The bottom side of the antenna plug in the picture has a tab you have to depress to pull it out. I can't tell if there's a locking tab to hold it in place, but it doesn't appear so. Why not use one of the adapters that just broadcasts the signal via FM via inline with the antenna plug. I haven't seen any of the inline antenna style in YEARS. I have one somewhere and it's the old style GM plug, it's changed since then.
