What gets me is GM specifically stated when they brought out the "all new" Silverado that the 8 sp was redesigned. All the problems they are still having, seems they didn't do anything to fix the problem.

To think as tech moves on, it can only get worse. Vehicles rely on tech to do anything and one simple thing can keep it from driving. The guy I sold me 2002 Silverado to said he is going to sell it since he really doesn't use it. Only put 7k miles on it since I sold it to him. He told me I could buy it back for what he paid me for it. So tempting.

It wasn't bad at all. Only issue was the pouring rain that hit from the hurricane. Nothing major but still got wet some since i couldn't fit the truck all the way in the garage, plus I like natural light to work with. On a side note, the next day my thighs were killing me. I'm not as young as I once was.

I got the new wheels and tires on. The front is raised an inch and a quarter from stock with the Eibachs installed. The wheels are Motiv 427MB Gloss Black w/ Machined Face Accents 18 x9 with a +18 offset and tires are 285/70-18 Toyo Open Country AT III's. No rubbing at all. The tires are louder than I expected. I got the impression they were kind of quiet from all the reading I have been doing online. Not bad but you can hear them. Now to give it a bath. It could use a nice spa day.

Finally got around to installing the Eibach 2.0 Pro Kit. Not a bad install but since I also installed the Trail Boss half shafts and Cognito UCA's it took me 5 hrs. So far I love it. The ride is so much better and the front end doesn't bottom out going over speed bumps like it did before. To me it was well worth it and since the shops around here wanted $1,200 to install it, I figured I could save some cash. I have new wheels for it and getting new Toyo Open Country ATIII's tomorrow. I got 47k out of the factory Bridgstones. I also installed a 2" block in the back.

Summer still going strong here on the east coast. Getting ready for the wind and rain from Idalia. We need the rain. The weekend forecast is looking great. Only a high of 88 instead of 95.

Better off getting an aluminum pan. Dissipates heat better and is rigid for a good seal.

My 2002 1500 5.3 was the same. New fuel pump and it was back to good as new.

Manufactures don't recommend it's my understanding that it would open up all kinds of warranty claims if for some reason something happened. But now, lubricant technology has come a long way and the use of additives in the oil are not needed.

Are you saying it is quiet while you are in 4 wheel drive or with it disconnected? How does it sound in 4 wheel high driving?
