The GM service manual states that the gas tank needs to be removed to remove the driver side leaf spring in my 1999 Sivlerado Z71. Do I really need to remove the gas tank to replace my spring????

Isn't there enough room to remove the bolt with out effin with the gas tank?

I did not need to when I did mine but it was a 92. I just bought another bolt and nut to have in case I needed to cut it off. My plan was to cut the bolt off once I had driven it out to the tank and then install the bolt thread end in first from the outside.

Yea, I think I might tackle it that way. Thinking about moving the gas tank just isn't gellin' with me. Thanks for the reply.
