Air Shocks?

I posted this last night but I guess it didn't go through. I'll try again.

 

I have a 2003 Yukon Denali that needs a left rear air shock. Dealer quoted me $600-800 just for the part. I think that's insane.

 

I saw on ebay a pair of them for about $500. Is this realistic? Anywhere else that sells them at a reasonable price?

 

I also thought about going to a pick-N-pull and getting one off a wrecked vehicle. But I heard the part numbers on the shocks have to match (left/right) or you have to replace both at once. Is this true?

 

Lastly, how easy is it for a person with average automotive skills to replace? Just a matter of bolting on? Or more complicated? My boyfriend replaces the air shocks on his truck all the time. Thanks!
