Good luck and let us know how that works...I've been wanting to do this to mine but been running into width issues.

You say that you need 6-lug,and you would prefer 99-up,but I'm pretty sure all the 99-up GMT800 trucks with the 9.5"/14-bolt rear-end are all 8-lug (1500HD/2500LD)

I think your going to have to go with one from a GMT400 truck,either a light-duty 3/4-ton (7,200lb. GVWR) or a 1/2-ton with the "F44" heavy-duty chassis pkg. (6,600lb. GVWR)

I had two GMT400 trucks ('94 & '97) with the 9.5"/14-bolt/6-lug rear-end (It was part of the F44 pkg.)

SS and VMax are 6 lug

They're also harder to find, at least around here...I did an online search once and all of the places within 500 miles of me was 1,000 bucks or more...

I was gonna score a GMT-400 axle once but when I measured it it came out to be a couple inches shorter and my springs would've been sitting on the brakes...And I think it was off a 4x4 too...I thought about getting one off a 1500hd and trying to maybe swap the outers out but I think that'd be a lot of work machining and adapters wise.

I finally finished the Disk swap on mine..I hope I can get it under the truck soon. I cant wait to try out the 4.88s and ARB Locker :sigh:

You are correct Jameson :sigh: I was trying to think of what,if any,GMT800 trucks had that setup and was drawing a blank last night.

Keep in mind though that I think only the '05-up 2wd SS's have the 9.5",The AWD ones have the 8.625"
