Flowmaster 44 Mufflers On 98 Chevy

Ive looked at some videos on youtube with this setup, and I really like the sound. I just need some help, becuase Ive never bought truck exhaust before(this is my first truck).

 

Aside from the muffler, what else would I need to buy?

 

(I know this sounds completly stupid, but I genuinely don't know much about exhaust)

Your best bet is just go to a exhaust shop and tell them what you want to do. There are a lot of variables here based on how you want to run the exhaust. You will be much better off going to the professionals. They should be able to build you a cat back system for just a $200 to 300.

If you're going to do it yourself, just get a whole kit. I tried buying stock pipes and putting a flowmaster 40 series delta flow... what a headache...

You will also ned to know what you want to do about the set up. Currently, you should be running a single pipre from the cat to the muffler and then out the back behind the wheel. I recall the system being about 2 3/4 or 3 inches, you should measure that up yourself. Then you need to decide if you want duals running out from the muffler (two pipes that exit on either side of your spare tire) or if you want to stick with a single pipe. Of course, the more pipe/bending you rquire, the more the cost will be. I had a Flowmaster "knock-off" put on by a local shop. They charged me $175 for the muffler and to bend up a new single exit tail pipe.

Definitly going to get dual rear exit system with the Flowmaster 44 muffler. Just gotta find a local exhaust shop that can do it.
