2009 Silverado 1500 4x4

Hello all,

Was just looking around on GM's web-site & playing with the "build your vehicle" and it appears that GM dropped the Vortec Max option in 2009... is that a correct observation on my part?

It is definitely dropped for 2010 because the 6.2L will be replacing it

Thanks for the info on the 6.2L in 2010. So.... was I seeing correctly that the Vortec Max is not offered in the 2009 models?

Yep,There still building 09's

 

And the 6.2 is included in the NHT pkg. for 2010.

 

Remember Ryan you thought you were going to have to get the NHT pkg. in order to get the 6.2 on your 2010 (Because you thought it wasn't available with the Z71 pkg.)

Yep,Only now for 2010 the VortecMAX/NHT pkg. will give you the 6.2.

So the VortecMAX name remains, but now applies to the 6.2L instead of the 6.0L. Interesting.

In 07 when the GMT900 Platform came out, the true VortecMAX was the 6.0L with the NHT Pkg, and the 4.10 gearing. That also had the slotted front bumper with the 4.10, for extra cooling, since it could tow 10,500lbs.

They did drop the "VortecMAX" badge,But they still have the "NHT" Max Trailering Pkg. available for 2010.
