Anyone able to buy the wheelhouse liners for the rear wheelwells? Ive tried several dealers in my area and they all tell me the same thing. Have to order them, and they are back ordered from the factory without any ship date. Any mail order house have them in stock.

I picked some up a few weeks ago from the stealership. They had to order them, of course, but they were shipped in overnight and I picked them up the next day. Same with the locking lugs I ordered through them.

Not sure if you're on a budget or just looking for the easiest option--but I took a little bit of time to mask off the fender and rims and got a few cans of rubberized undercoat from the parts house. Put one coat on--let dry for a couple days---put another coat on--same process. Did about 4 coats, and now when rocks sling up, it's so thick that it really muffles the noise and they practically bounce off. When it comes to liners, I just look at that as one more thing to rip off when out in the sticks. Just my 2 cents.

 

Oh---and it takes about 1 can per coat. At $4 a can. Total cost around $20 bucks for both sides.

The wheel well liners also trap in dirt behind them, so coating them would be better IMO.

You could do that but you still don't cover as much as the liners do.

Just get the liners and be done.

AutoZone had the Rustoleum Rubberized Undercoat 2 for $6 the other day, picked up a few cans and when I have enough time to let the truck sit and its not raining I'm going to spray the wheel wells, might end up getting the plastic liners down the road but don't you also have to drill holes to mount the plastic liners, that’s the part I'm not so excited about.

Has anyone had there wheel wells done with the line X. My truck is going in on the 28th for the box and they said they could do the rear wheel wells also for a little extra $.

 

I was thinking of letting them do it as it would probably last longer.

 

Thoughts??

Go ahead and get it done. Line-X is better than getting the wheel well liners.

I bought the factory liners shortly after my truck was new. Although they come with screws, they snap in so tight I never used them. I also have the rear molded mud guards, but I don't think that affected the fit. It's been almost a year, and I'm still very pleased!

I went with the liners when I bought my truck. The one thing I don't like about them is they have a counter/channel in them that traps rocks/dirt/what not against the side of the bed. And with living on a gravel road there is constantly rocks in there.

 

When I get my truck Linex'ed in a month or so I'm debating on taking out the liners so that they can do the wheel wells. I figured that if there is that coating on there will be better protection then having the liner in there that traps rocks against the paint. Then again might just take the liners our and spary some undercoating protection in there and then put them back in... who knows. We'll see how bad it looks when I get them out.

I have heard a lot of complaints about the liners. That is why I went this way...
