Rear Power Windows

So I have a '99 GMC Sierra ECSB and I have been thinking about this project for a while. I need your opinions on if it would be doable. The extended cab has the rear windows/vents that need to be opened manually. I was wondering if it would be possible to take some motors/actuators from a minivan or similar setup, and then install them and run wires to the driver side door. I would get a yukon switch board for the driver side door and wire the actuators to the rear door window switches.

Is there any issues to look for?

Bad or good idea?

Thanks

It would be unique to your truck, but it would take a lot of work. The GMT-900 extended cab rear windows roll down all the way from the factory, it is a really nice option. If your into getting a new truck you should check out the new silverado.

If you're just going to make them powered to open and close the existing pop-out type mechanism, I think it should be pretty easy. Making them roll down is a whole different animal.

Yeah I was thinking pop-out style. I don't even know where I would begin if I were gonna do the roll down kind. Probably the car lot like L76 said. :jester:

If you can figure it out, I would say go for it. It would allow some fresh air to roll through the cabin, in case you don't have a rear sliding glass window. I know the Dodge minivans can do it, you may want to explore to see how they do it. Good luck.
