Abs Issue?

I going to jump on the wagon and buy a Tundra cause GM quality sucks

Seriously tho I have a MINOR issue and need some feedback

 

A few times a day when I stop my truck and keep my foot on the brake waiting till the light changes to green, I notice that when I put my foot onto the gas, a get a brief ABS pulse as soon as i press the gas and start moving.....a few times the traction light has come on, but there was definatly no wheel spin.

I have never experienced an ABS fault like you describe, I have only felt it during braking.

It will, just before a complete stop, pulse(activate) and won't stop the truck until another foot or 2(This was on my 97 Sierra)

I simple cleaned the hub assembly and usually it cured it and it lasted about a year until it would do it again.

I did have 1 sensor replaced on the passenger side when the cleaning didn't change a thing though? Good Luck

Happened to me quite frequently. Check your wheel speed (abs) sensors. Sometimes they just need adjusted a little so they are getting a good reading. Also check the connections. If they get wet sometimes they short across giving the computer a false reading.

I would suspect the wheel sensor is bad.... my gmt 800 suffered from this problem and after a bad front hub seal leaked grease on the sensor the assembly was replaced under warranty and life was good again. So far I've had no issue with my gmt 900. But I admit I have wondered if it would happen again.... Btw thats a nice truck!!! :jester:

It is usually caused by big tires and shiny black paint. You voided your truck warranty when you put nitrogen in your tires. The lift kit causes the sensors to be too high (too far from the road). You will need to get a laser bearing adjustment (after putting your truck back to stock completely).

 

Of course, you could also find someone that has a dealer kind of scan tool that will run ABS diags when plugged into the diagnostic port. Or just take it to the dealer and get frustrated..

but i will probally end up taking it out of town and have them scan it...i better air down the tires then so they look stock :jester:

Yeah, but it has that A/T defective package. GM would like to recall them all and crush them. But, can't afford it now. The ABS problem is just one of the issues. There's the shocks that ride so much better than other trucks, it makes GM look bad. The chrome fender badge has been known to give Daddy angina pain when he sees them...you could be next. Then there's the interior that is made of some kind of plastic that gives off a vapor that makes the occupant in the driver seat feel euphoric, with a sense of super-truck like capabilities. Verrrry addictive and dangerous. :jester:

lol yes i ordered an avalanche and IF it comes in (sometime in October), the truck is being traded to a friend thru the dealer. If it doesnt come in, I'm keeping it

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
