Best Truck For 8-10 Psi

Hi i am coming from Toyota so i need help. I wanna get 1999-2002 body style truck and put sts turbo on it about 8-10 psi. I was thinking about getting just 1500 with 5.3 but then i found out that there transmissions and rear ends not wary strong and i will need to get stronger stuff for 500hp range. so i was wondering would i benefit from getting 1500hd or 2500 would it have stronger transmission and rear end and how mutch more weight would it have? Any input will be apreshiated.

An HD will be heavier, but they do come with 14 bolt rear ends, which are stronger then the 10 bolt rear found on the 1500's. The trans are also stronger. You could always add a 14 bolt and beef up the 4L60e on the 1500. Probably cheaper just to find a used 6.0HD.

1500hd ad 2500 are the same man...that just really depends on how far you wanna go i think. if you want a light truck too go fast or you want a heavy truck that can tow like nobodies business...i own a 2006 1500 hd, at 5-7 pounds of boost on the 6 litre, youll run like 400 horse..buy a half ton, find a 14 bolt rear end put it in it...put a shift kit in the tranny, still dont know how long she would suffer...4l80e is a tough trans and will take you further in the performance world, eventually you would want one anyways LOL. look for a 99-00 in good shape and spend another couple grand on a salvaged 6 litre, or something with a trans on it still and drop iit in. i know in canada they are a dime a dozen, every scrap yards got em. i know up here i can get another motor and tranny for my truck with computer for under 3 grand LOL!!
