This is a 2000 Yukon XL. I noticed that my DRL's are not on, just my headlamps?? I tried playing with the different settings, lights on and of manually, high beams, fog lights, etc. My DRL's never came on instead my headlamps are essentially on all of the time. Anyone know what the deal is?

The little black dome near the base of the windshield and dash probably died. That is the ambient light sensor and it is relatively cheap to buy but a pain to change out....It effective "burned out" causing a resistance value of near 0 causing the truck to think that it is dark out...

Do you know what it is called and where I might get one? What all is involved in replacing it?

Here ya go...the process is very similar to the Yukon since the dash is 98% the same in the back:
