Just Got My First Truck, A Yukon Xl

Hi All,

Earlier this year we picked up a 2003 Yukon XL. 57k on it right now. It's going to be our family vehicle primarily, but we've already used it several times to haul equipment for small construction/remodeling jobs. It's really nice to not have to borrow somebody else's truck to haul/tow things!

I'm here to glean information on how to take care of and service my vehicle, so that it stays running (and runs well) for a long time!

If you don't know the maintenance record on the vehicle, consider changing all your fluids. Trans, differential, and cooling system. Trans and cooling system especially. What's your mileage?

Welcome BTW.

It's got about 57k on it right now (I edited my initial post to include that).

What about the axle fluid? According to my manual that takes SAE 75W-90, and it's supposed to be a synthetic. Should that be changed?

How about the transfer case? That takes ATF, just like the transmission. Should I change that out?
