Any New/updated Longer Oil Filters For An 09 Sierra 5.3

Just curious if there is a longer filter available for the 09 5.3 engines?

The ones I just bought are the exact same height as the stockers and longer/taller ones are not available (Car Quest Wix filters)

In my opinion there is lots of room for a longer filter as the cross support hangs down a lot lower than the filter does.

I would like to have the extra filtering capability that a longer filter adds and it would probably take your oil level to an even 6 litres instead of 5.7? That would be a lot easier to do as well.

I am about to change my oil this weekend...I'd kinda like the same thing. I always went for the bigger filter on my 350s. I hope there's one available, too.

I don't know of any longer AC-Delco ones for the '07-up GEN IV engines.

You can use a PF61 on yours,you have a GEN III engine.

Don't be fooled by a larger looking filter. Its the media that's important and that bigger filter may have exactly the same size media (area) as the smaller one. But you think you are increasing the oil capacity but its a drop in the bucket. Maybe adding 2-4 ozs more the filter holds but you still have 6 qts in the engine. No advantage.

Yep,They sent that bulletin out to us dealers earlier this year.

Is it true that the new ac delco filters are not as good as the old design? I have been using the napa gold (wix) in the truck.

Not saying the newer smaller filter is not better as far as filtering goes etc, but when was the last time anyone ever heard of a filter collapsing or bursting?
