Heated Seats Problem

I have a 2003 Silverado 1500HD, 4x4, Crew Cab, Quadrasteer, fancy trim level (heated leather seats stock). The heat really helps my back on the long drives I take. Lately, can't remember for how long, when I turn on the seat heaters, they come on to the point of getting warm but then go off on their own right away. They never did this previously. This happens for both drive side and shotgun seats. I first noticed it during a rainy night so I tried them again the next day with all other electrical items (that I have control over) turned off. I also tried only putting them on a low setting but that did not seem to make any difference. Once they go off on their own, I can put them back on, but that only lasts for a short time and then they go off again. It behaves like a fusible link is opening somewhere but I don;t have a wiring diagram for the truck and short of tracing wires, I am in the dark. I am worried that even if it is a fusible link, there is something causing it to heat up past the level they are supposed to operate at. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Fusible links don't recover, they burn out (wire melts). Perhaps there is a circuit breaker somewhere or a bad thermistor (to regulate tempurature so it doesn't get too hot).
