91 Chevy 3500 Question

i have a 95 sierra 1500 which has the 241 transfer case, i picked up a parts truck, 91 chevy 3500 had the 454 in it, are the transfer cases the same? i couldnt find a tag on it with the number. Also the doors on the chevy are better than mine, will the door panels from mine mount on to the chevy doors? thanks in advance.

Probably a Borg Warner 4401 case in the ton truck. If it is an NP241 in the ton truck, the input spline will be different. Your half ton case has a 27 spline input shaft behind the 4L60e. The heavier trucks used a 32 spline input shaft behind the 4L80e. I am of course assuming both trucks are automatics. Everything in the case is the same, except the input shaft. I don't know what's wrong your case, but if you are up for tearing them down, you could put your 27 spline input in the ton truck case. I could use the 32 spline input shaft and would buy it from you if it's in good condition.

 

The door panels are the same.

 

Here are some transfer case pics. About a third the way down are NP241/NP243 cases, as well as the BW4401. You will be able to tell the difference after looking at these pics.

my case if fine right now, just looking for spare parts just incase something does happen to it. id be willing to sell the 32 spline input shaft to you. pm me an offer.
