New Update For U7194, Added Support For All 09 V8 Trucks

Hey guys, we are proud to announce support for all 07.5-09 NBS trucks in our Predator (U7194) and Trinity applications.

This is in addition to our current support for NBS Trucks (07.5-up) and 06-Up Vettes in the U7194.

U7194 Predator info

The tunes for the NBS trucks add solid 20-25 rwhp gains with solid gains in low end torque as well, while increasing throttle response, reducing Torque management, and optimizing other aspects of the vehicles tuning. We also optimize the DoD settings for increased mileage.

We also provide a good selection of adjustable parameters, like WOT timing and fuel adjustment, rev and speed limit adjustment, idle speed adjustment, as well as tire size correction, and the ability to disable the DoD system.

Stepping up to a Trinity monitoring device adds virtual gauge monitoring, with the ability to monitor and log multiple parameters at once, and to create your own dash layouts for monitoring.

It also has a really cool virtual dragstrip function, which will calculate 0-60, 0-100, 1/8th or 1/4 mile times, and also gives you trap speed. You have the option of recording from a motion start (timer starts as soon as the wheels move) or there is a really nice built in drag tree and it will give you a reaction time as well.

The Trinity also adds 2 analog inputs that can be logged right along with your OBD-II data for seamless datalogging of your vehicles functions.

Of course, the Trinity also comes preloaded ready to support lots of vehicles, from late model HEMIs to Mustangs to Diesel trucks, its all in one unit, and has all of the same great tuning capabilities as our Predator tuners.

"With all due respect" ...(because the Predator on my 7.3 Power Stroke has been flawless since 2003!), I have to disagree with the Vedors post claiming support for "all 07.5-09 NBS trucks in our Predator (U7194) and Trinity applications". After looking over the web-site, and calling Diablosport on the phone ...They do not offer support for my 2009 GMC Sierra "M Code" 5.3l engine (8th Digit Vin#). My engine is the (RPO LH6) 5.3l all aluminum block and heads ..non-flexfuel. Seems to me that is one of the most commom engins in the GMT900 trucks. They offer Predator support for 2008 "M Code" 5.3l, but not the 2009? Is there that much difference between the 08 and 09 5.3l? Not that I can find.

I really want a Predator for this truck. None of the other tuners are even worth considering for this truck. Can't get a "live" BlackBear tune in Alaska either!

Come on DS ...Dont leave out the "M Code" engine for 2009!

have you provided them with your VIN# and the Calibration ID's for your truck??

MonteSS,

I called DS and asked them about the "M Code" (8th digit in VIN#) 5.3L for my 2009 Sierra. The kid sounded like he simply looked it up on thier web-page (like I did) ...and said "no support for the "M" Code 5.3 engine". I'm still not convinced that it's not just an oversight on the part of whoever filled in the data on the web page. They listed support for the 2008 "M Code" (same engine as the 2009 ...RPO LH6).

As far as the "calibration ID's" ...not sure what those are, but no one at DS asked me for them?

Should I try talking to them again?

Thanks for the reply SS!

aaahh... you don't have a predator for the truck yet, so you couldn't give them the CAL ID's anyway... you'd use the predator to pull up the list of all the Calibration ID's from the ecm...

but anyway... I just talked with my boyz at diablo... and the latest revision 7194 predator DOES support the "M" code engines... also found out that the engine codes don't really matter anymore - the predator will ready ANY e38 ecm now, which is what you have in your truck...

so order up!!!

:P

Thats great news fellas ...you guys made my day! I'll be ordering-up a Predator soon. Once I have it, am I suppose to call in with those "Calibration ID's"?? Or is it Plug and Play? I had one on my 2003 Power Stroke, and my 2001 Triton V10 before that ...so I am familiar with most of the operations.

Is there a thread here I could refer to for "set-up" so i'm not bothering everyone with those questions?

nope...

once you get it.. install the diablo tune (which is made for 93 octane gas)... put on about 75 miles... then do some data logging and get your fueling dialed in...

here's info:

of course, to get even more out of your truck, get a custom tune!!! contact me if you're interested in more giddy-up!! than the canned preset diablo tune provides...

MonteSS,

Unfortunately in Alaska we only have up to 90 octane pump gas (aint that some shit!) ...so I'll only be able to use the 87 octane tune. Hardly seems worth while for a gas motor, as opposed to my 7.3 PowerStroke Deisel. None-the-less ...I want the programmer to go with all the other "bolt-ons" I've added (see my signature block). If anything, to reduce/remove the TM and firm-up the shift points. You read so much about the "Black Bear tunes", and they sound great. But I've ran the Predator on my previous trucks, and like being able to reset the computer to the stock for a service call, or switch to a different tune for towing.

And yes ...I would love to have you work a "custom tune" for me on this truck. I'm all about max performance ...(without any undue harshness or reliabilty issues of course). It is my daily driver, and after all ...I've got a Suzuki Hayabusa for the real speed fix!

Couple more questions:

- Is it a problem that I don't have access to fuel above 90 Octane when it comes to installing the Predator, or building a custom tune? Will the 87 Tune work for that stuff?

- In your "Tuning Class" (link above) ...you refer to DOD (Displacement on Demand). Is that the same as AFM (Active Fuel Management)...reduces to 4 cyclinders during "cruise"? My Truck is the 5.3L with AFM.

- I've been looking for a good price for the Predator on-line. Very few distributors list the current revision on their tuner, but one retailer says their U7194 has revision 09-08. Not sure that will cover my 2009 Sierra "M Code" engine. I believe my "M Code" engine was one of the last to be added ...revision 09-09h? Not sure which revision added the "M Code" for the 2009 Trucks? (the conversation that started all this). So, should I plan on updating the tool to the latest 09-09h revision before I even put it to the truck?

Lastley ...Whats your fee for a custom tune?

Thanks MonteSS!

p.s...In high school I had an original 1970 Monte Carlo SS with 454 4bbl! Found out years later what I had and how rare it was. My Dad sold it when I went to Basic Training after high school. Wish I still had that car ...it was numbers matching original, mint condition!

yeah, Sarah Palin must be keepin' the good stuff for herself!!! LOL

as far as firming up the shift points - ain't gonna happen... there is no tranny/TCM support for it yet... so you can't adjust anything for the tranny at this point...

no, it's not a problem with only 90 octane fuel... we can still do a custom tune and get it dialed in... you can run the Diablo/Performance tune, but would just need to pull out a few degrees of WOT timing...

yes, DOD is the same as AFM... when GM first came out with it, it was called DOD, then they changed it to AFM... same thing...

best place to get the predator, brand new, is here - only 299.99 - http://concoursdirect.com/disppr20c6ls.html

you will also need the pc interface kit to hook it up to your PC in order to update it to latest revisions, download data logs, import/export tunes, etc etc... http://concoursdirect.com/prpcinupkit.html

when you get the predator, go to diablo's site and download the dsdownloader application, and the latest crom revision update file, and update the predator to the latest revision before you install it to your truck...

as for my custom tune info, see here: http://www.eprowebdesigns.com/DiabLew_Tune/

thanks!!

Yeah ..."Sexy Sarah" is pure octane here in Alaska! LOL!

So Lew, its done! I ordered the Predator and "PC-kit" from the web-site you recommended above. Should be here early next week.

I knew there was no TCM support on the U7194, but I figured I could still set transmission shift pressure? I guess I was used to the Predator on my 7.3L PowerStroke. Oh well ..."bring on the TCM support Diablo Sport"!

After I get the Predator updated and installed into the truck, I'll be looking to you for a custom tune Lew. It'll probably be another month before I'm ready though. I still have to install my CAI and Cat-back system before I start logging. I have the gear sitting in the shop ...just have to make time to install it!

Will it be a factor that my "data logging" will be done during the cold ambient temperatures this time of year in Alaska? It'll only be in the 20's and 30's over the next month or so.

I'm looking forward to puting that "DiabLEW Tuned" logo in my signature block!
