Toyo Tire Pressure?

How much air pressure are you guys running in your toyo's? Currently have 50 psi in them, seems a little rougher than I expected it would be. Was just wondering how low I could go and still have the tires wear properly.

50 psi is WAYY TOO MUCH. That's about the max psi right? They'll wear in the middle fast. I ran a set on my 02 and funny as this might sound I ran them at 35 psi all the way around. The rode/wore/handled great.

My tires are load e tires with a max of 80 psi. I am going to try 40 psi then to 35 and see how they do.

If you are looking for smooth ride...35lbs. Longer lasting...40 lbs. I run 31 pounds in my factory Goodyear LS2 tires as recommended by the factory. I could run more....but I hate that harsh ride.

I just put some Toyo LR E 285-70/17 tires on my 1500 and Im finding they ride very nice at 44 but are a bit wallow-y at that pressure at freeway speed when maneuvering. At 55 psi, they are great handling at highway speeds, but harsher riding. At 50 they are a good compromise in ride and handling. Tread contact looks good in the front at 50 and 44 in the rear (I have a Snugtop shell at about 200 lbs and an alum bed drawer at about 200 lbs).

I'm going to give 50 front and 44 rear a try for a bit around town. If I were not driving above 50 mph at all, maybe 44 or even 40 would be fine all the way around.

I'm leaving for a hunt trip to SoDak in a week and thats going to be about 4000 miles round trip or more, depending on my detours to hunt elsewhere on the way back. With all the extra gear in the back, I'm probably going to run 50 all the way around.

Dennis,

Did you get your TPMS upper limit warning threshold moved to a higher pressure? Who did it?
