Engine Paint

First off , I've decided to keep my 70 C10!  Oh happy day!  i'm gonna have the frame powder coated tan, since I'm going with a forest green/blue pearl body color.  I'd like to paint the engine block the same color.  Is there any way I can do this?  I'm gonna drive the truck on weekends and such, and it will get up to normal operating temps.  NOT A TRAILER QUEEN!!!!  My brothers driveline is chevy orange out of a can and came out nicely, but the only paint I have seen is in original engine colors!  Not what I'm looking for.

The local Corvette shop uses urethane automotive paint on engine parts all the time.  I'm not sure if they lay down a primer/sealer first, like you would on a car/truck body, but it probably wouldn't hurt.  Just have the paint shop mix a quart or so extra of the body color and you can paint the engine with it.  It wouldn't hurt to ask them about it to be sure, but like I said the Corvette guys do this all the time.

The key, of course, is to get the block perfectly clean and degreased so the stuff will stick.

Thanks Jeff.  Not sure when I'll be able to tear down the truck, but I hope to start it within the year!
