My three month trial was suposed to end October 5th, for some reason it stopped working sept 27th. I called xm and signed up for monthly service. I have tried to refresh this damn thing 10 times at three different locations and nothing. I am getting there promo on channel one but nothing else. So wish I still had sirrius. Any suggestions

What do you mean by refreshing? Have you tried changing channels to like the 70's on 7? My XM trial expired last year and I got a XM mailer, $20 for 5 months, but it gets better the gal didn't even charge me activation! I kept it on the preview channel and changed channels after about 5 minutes after I hung up. And it worked. HTH.

http://www.xmradio.com/refresh/index.xmc Its the same concept as when you call in, it sends a signal to update your service. Turn the radio on to channel one then after twenty minutes your supposed to scroll threw the channels. Only channels I get are 0, 1 and emergency channel.

Call them up and verify your radio id is correct in their system. Sirius/Xm is a pretty messed up company these days. I don't hold high hopes for their survival :D

I thought I was the only one having this problem, I have been on the phone with XM many times with no luck what so ever. Please tell me you have found a solution. Thanks

I never have any problems and I switching the XM from my CTS to my truck and back (don't drive the CTS in winter and rarely drive the truck in summer) and there are never any problems configuring. And I don't have to put it on channel one either, just have the radio turned on.

The only "issues" I've experienced with XM are poor selection of music, increasing number of commercials, unsatisfactory sound quality, increasing prices, and terrible billing practices and customer service. I recently discontinued service after years of listening in my home and various vehicles and have now use my iPod and iPhone to listen to my music library and podcasts -- no commercials, exactly the programming I want, no programming fees, no signal issues. If there is something "live" that I want or need to hear, I'll listen to FM or stream something from my iPhone.

Yeah, I won't be renewing with them after 3 years because they actually had the nerve to stop my PC XM radio in the middle of my sub this year. I enjoyed listening to XM while I was surfing in the evening. In my opinion, that was part of the yearly package, and they just cut it off.

 

They lost me as a customer when they did that. I will just plug up my Ipod Touch loaded with music from now on.

 

It amazes me how much these companies will spend on avertising how great they are to the customer, then will lose customers by doing the nickle and dime thing.

PS: I too am sick and tired of Satellite TV, Radio, and Cable putting in more and more commercial time. I PAY for this crap? No more. My DISH sub will be next to go....

Xm cut off my online service, after I renewed and was told it was part of the deal. The music has been "stale" lately. I will downgrade, next year, to the music only package, but if programming don't get better, I will be buying cd's and a Ipod.

I only subscribe to the music pkg also because the AM/FM stations in my area suck, all the rest of the programming is of no interest to me. I basically only listen to 2 channels, 6 and 49.

My issue with XM is reception. I had a sirius plug and play unit that I used in my last two vehicles. Very rarely did I have signal problems. Now with the XM and the factory antenna it's ridiculous. Usually 10 or more interruptions of service during a 25 mile commute. Doesn't work for me. Certainly not going to pay for it.

Is there a way to connect or hook up a sirus box or somthing that will tune sirus stations through our 09 type factory radios. I like sirus much more than XM. Single issues with xm and I think sirus has better music channle line up for what I like to listening too.

i cant even begin to say what i have to say about xm. first of all, automatic renewal!??? bullsh!t, i recieved the 19.99 for 5 month bc i told them i didnt want it. thats how they suckered me in. i told them i do not want an automatic renewal and wouldnt get the service unless there was a note in the system. well 5 months passed and my xm shut off. 3 months later i get a bill in the mail for 37.68. they told me it was a valid charge according to they're terms and agreement on they're website. it was for a quarterly subscription (renewal). i did not agree to automatic renewal at all! i got into a huge argument with one of the customer service people. i asked to speak with the supervisor. i got disconnected like 3 times before i actually got to talk to a supervisor and explained my situation. he told me he could talk to the financing department and waive half of the 37.68. i wasnt happy with just half but accepted it. part of waiving half of the charge, the supervisor said he could only do it if i resigned up for service. i said OK but i only wanted to pay for 1 month not a quarterly subscription. he said not a problem ill transfer you back to the customer service agent who i was talking to before him. i was talking to the agent for 15 minutes while we was setting up whatever he had to do. i told him i only wanted to pay for 1 month and that was it. i wanted mostly music package because all i listen to is the music. the plan is 9.99 a month. i told them i would cancel as soon as the 1 month was over so i wouldnt get any problems with renewal.

 

what ended up happening was i looked at my debit statement the next day and guess what happended... they refunded me 18.63 and then charged me 49.86 for a quarterly subscription! scam artists!! i instantly called and was furious. they said that they understood what i was saying but didnt understand why/how they could just charge me for a monthly package, because they made it recently so that u can only sign up for a quarterly package. i was bullsh!t again so demanded a supervisor. while waiting 10-15 minutes i got disconnected. i called back and was connected to this very nice and understanding gentleman. i told him every time i call i get disconnected on hold. he said he would stay on the line with me and fix everything since he has been working for xm for a number of years. he said he would give me 2 months free for the hassle and refund me the 38.45 (the difference of the 9.99 or whatever) he waived the activation fee since he had to cancel my account and start up a new one. he also gave me a reference number for the fact that he opted for me automatic renewal. that was huge because i could have sworn i did that before.

 

i forgot to mention xm went to a debt collection agency after 3 month of me not paying for something i didnt approve of. the agency demanded the 37.68. is this outrageous or is this perfectly ok?? the only thing XM told me about this was, "this is a valid charge"..... everything is ok now but i still had to pay for half of a quarterly subscription i didnt even receive on my radio (services i never got!) XM is horrible. bad reception when trees are around and sound quality isnt the best. i cant get over how many times i have gotten disconnected on hold after waiting 10-15 minutes. i have only called them maybe 4-5 times for one or another reason and got disconnected 12-15 times waiting on hold for longer than 10 minutes!

 

i want to apologize for me going on and on. i know i dont have the best grammar too lol. i really wanted to vent my situation because i was out for blood because of XM. we should start a petition or a "I hate XM" fan club haha. thank you everyone
