Tink Tink In Exhaust?

Hey guys i need some help...

I have an awful noise coming from my truck that tinks and tinks and tinks all the time.

I think it is in my catalynic convertors because if i get under there and give them a few good knocks with my palm i can hear something rattling around in there...

so hear is for the questions...

Does that sound like it could be true? (I am no Mechanic though i am going to school to be one)

Could this have something to do with me getting 13 mpg?

Also can a Fuel Filter hold your mileage back that much?

Thanks guys and information will be appreciated.

Sounds like it's time for a new cat. A clogged fuel filter might cause your pump to die....change it if it's overdue. As far as your fuel mileage it's hard for us to tell since we have no clue about your driving habits.

Check your O2 sensors to see if that's where your rattle is coming from. I figured out that's where my noise originated after I changed out the cats. :idiot:

The cats ended up being bad anyway though, just not rattling like I thought they were.

I usually get on it preaty good lol. I have a spectre cold air intake and as far as my EFI live tune i had 75% of my TM taken off and also added a little more fuel. But on my trip to Michigan over the weekend on a 250 mile solid trip of driving i managed to get 15 mpg that was babying the throttle around 65 mph and there wernt many hills or stoplights involved in that. I am realy hopeing to get down to the bottom line of my mileage and i am planning to get my headers installed after christmas.

Also what do you guys think about the Hydrogen kits found on the internet... Do you think they would be worth a try?
