Is This The Right Servo?

After reading everyones success on the vette servo I decided to go ahead and purchase one as well. I just want to make sure I'm buying the correct one.

I did want to ask and when searching I seemed to have found many different answers to this question. Will the tranny shift to firm for daily driving applications? I want to get the most out of the truck and make it last.

Thats what you need. The tranny wont shift as hard as you think. Its not hard as much as it is quick. You will notice a difference, but with everyday driving if you dont get on it off the line all the time you wont really feel it to much. Its kind of hard to explain. It just feels much stronger after you put it in.

Hard to explain...here's how I do it:

 

Right now, your truck S------H------I------F------T------S, after the servo...it will S-H-I-F-T.

 

It's very easy to do...and if you do it RIGHT...the snap ring is a 'snap' as well. All you have to do is when you are putting everything back together, the cover will go on, but only slightly. You need to use your pry bar to get everything to seat in there...once that happens, THEN you put the snap ring back in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the 4-speed the only option until the 09's came out unless you had the Denali?

Thanks guys. I went ahead and ordered it. I was reading some people were having trouble getting them in because of the space, so they have to take it apart first. Is that true on a GMT 800? Thanks

You have to remove the shield on the side of the trans. I had enough room on my 05 to get it out. it was tight though.

Damn, that's been going on 5 years ago....I would say 45 minutes or so, but a large portion of that time was getting the darn snap ring back on.

So it just comes out as a while once the cover is removed? I haven't worked on transmissions yet.

Getting the snap ring is the hardest part. It has to go in farther than you think. You don`t have to push hard, but you have to push straight, square, and firm.
