Im curious on which truck you guys think is faster.

Stock vs Stock

I have driven 2 different SS's and i wasnt all that impressed with them.

I honestly think that my Denali feels faster.

Right now I have corsa sport exhaust, what else can i do for alittle more power?

thanks

I'd put my money on the Trailblazer SS....get a tune is what you're going to hear regarding your last question.

Your comparing a Trail Blazer SS with the 6.0 to a Denali 6.2?.... Boy that would be a close race I think and a tough call, but I think the TBSS would win...

I did a quick search...

TBSS 5.7 seconds 0-60

Denali 6.2 seconds 0-60

I did a few searches last night and everything was saying

6.2 for both

I only read 5.7 in one place, i dont remember where.

Is there a tune that is good besides the black bear tune.

Doesnt seem like he is ever in my area.

I guess when my friend gets his truck we'll have to hit up the track and find out.

Justin (Black Bear) and Charlie Wheatley are both great tuners and both are sponsors of this site. Give them a call and discuss your options and then decide. You can't lose with either one.

Thanks I guess i have some more research to do.

Would i see any gains from a cold air intake?

I installed a volant in my Titan, but did exhaust and throttle body spacer at the same time and really cant say wether or not it made a nice change or not.

As a former owner of an 07 AWD TBSS, and having test driven a couple of Sierra Denalis before I bought my truck (I drove my TBSS and the SD back to back) I can definitely say the TBSS is faster.

I mean it would make sense being that it is lighter/smaller truck with a similar motor.

When i first drove the SS, from all the hop-up i was expecting something alot faster for sure.

Yeah, I can understand that. Although I seem to remember a 0-60 time for the TBSS in the 5.3-5.5 range.

The thing I like about the TBSS is that despite being a blisteringly fast SUV...it also can tow a good sized load. While the SRT-8 Grand Cherokee is even faster...it can only tow a pitiful 3500 pounds.

What's the tow rating of a TBSS? I think it is pretty low IIRC.

6500 for the AWD and 6700 or 6800 for the 2WD, if memory serves correctly.

As to the OP's question:

I have a 2007 TBSS AWD and a 2007 Yukon Denali AWD. Both are 100% mechanically stock. With that said, and after driving both for a few months (the Yukon almost a year)... the TBSS is without a doubt quicker in any situation. I've done 0-60s with both and my TBSS does it in 6.1-4 seconds the Denali managed 6.7-7.0 seconds. Let me say they were both running 91 octane, however, the TBSS ran those times in 90 degree weather, the Denali managed its times in much cooler 50 degree weather. The differences in times were because of different sorts of launches. I believe the TBSS would lead even further with the cooler temp. To me, the TBSS has more power on tap at anytime.. and I suspect it is because of the 4.10s. I am curious to see what they would both do tuned. I say that because the Denali feels way more "detuned" than the TBSS. But, it could be because of the sheer weight of the Yukon.

I enjoy both vehicles greatly. Which do I prefer to drive on twisty roads? The TBSS. Which do I like to drive on the highway? The Denali. That thing will put you to sleep at 70 MPH it's so smooth
