Intermit Electrical Problem

i have a 1988 s15 jimmy, got it for free:) the engine runs well and drives great, butone day the taillights will go out, come back later, and taillights will work and stereo will be out, and so forth, last night on the way home i noticed a shift indicator light light up on the dash, never saw it before,now the trunck release wont work, and when i push the button the emergency light comes on. what the heck...its posessed

... my guess is that you have a faulty ground wire or wires somewhere in the wiring

... I would start looking at the main battery cables and where the negative ground cable is mounted to the frame .. inspect them and clean them up
