Truck is a 2000 GMC sierra 5.3 ext cab 4wd.

Fuel pump is not working, i cant hear it prime when i turn the ignition on. Id like to order a new pump but i guess there were 2 pumps?? one with 2 electrical connectors, one with 1. Id like to find out which kind i need before ordering it and i can't take the truck bed off to inspect it tonight.

any help?

you should just be able to stick your hand up there and feel if there is 1 or 2. I think the 2nd connector has to do with evap emissions. not sure though

I had an 02' gm Sierra fuel pump went, the little pump itself went in mine if you booted the tank it would fire up lol. I didn't buy a delco I bought a Carter pump. It was cheaper and it lasted another 100k kms without an issue. I didn't drop the tank I pulled the box up and slid it back 12" took me 7 hours by myself. The pump came with different connectors all I had too do was chop the old one off and solder the new ones on that came with the pump it was simple. The parts came with it....might be something you should ask about....Carter pump.

in addition if you ask any knowledgable partsman about it they should know...it's a common issue withthose chevys

I changed mine Saturday. Blasted thing last from nov 98 till last week almost 169k..... Check these out:

Delphi FG0053 with EVAP also carter P74835m

Delphi FG0273 with out EVAP

Allow me to recommend if you have any way to pull the bed off it IS WAY EASIER than dropping the tank. I changed mine in about 50 minutes pulling the bed off.... Now I did use a 2 post lift by my engine picker would have worked great......... 8 Bed Bolts Bolts, 2 Tail Light wire connectors (the 2 large ones under the bed at your tag), 2 screws in the fuel filler neck, 1 push pin in the fuel filler neck. That made changing my Fuel pump a real dream.... I guess I should have taken pictures and made a tech wiki.....

Hope this helps. If you have 2 electrical connectors you have TCF fuel system which is FG0053 EVAP........ If you only have the with out EVAP system.
